Petty would be a nice return. Nice pull with Billy Joel, Unit.
As far as locals, is it too early to get a Ty Segall return? I know they just played two years ago but he's put out at least 4 records since then right? It would be great to see Primus but I've been saying that for two years now and since they are playing Bottle Neck that might mean they are out.
As for headliners, I'm thinking Killers are out with their show at the Civic. Based on my minimal fact checking and general assumptions, we' may get:
Rage Against the Machine - Ranger Dave's tweet saying "Let's rage the new year together"
Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band- Euro tour ends at the end of July, fits older demographic headliner, hasn't played bay area since the Oracle show in November 2012.
Green Day - Bay Area band that hasn't played OSL yet and is touring this summer
Depeche Mode- Euro- tour ends at the end of July
Mumford & Sons - In the Foo Fighter/Jack White early headliner slot. Hasn't played OSL yet or a Bay Area show since last August in Monterey, CA
Pearl Jam would be great, but it'd be the first repeat headliner they've done. I think with the options APE have, they really wouldn't have to book them. But hell, I thought that about the possibility of Coachella booking RHCP.
Along the lines of Petty/Springsteen/Fogarty...Bob Seger has a spring tour that goes through Washington and Oregon, but he has no Bay Area stop yet.
[QUOTE=What about big EDM acts for the Twin Peaks closer?[/QUOTE]
Last year was great with Justice/Sigur Ros (i was at Stevie Wonder for skrillex but thats a good closer too I guess.
I'm thinking M83 will finally make an appearance and they'd be perfect closing Twin Peaks. I have no idea who else would close though.
Simian Mobile Disco? Hot Chip? Booka Shade?
wouldn't be surprised for one out of those 3.
M83 for OL 2013 would make sense... They added a completely random show in Hollywood in September even though they haven't announced a tour.
Black Sabbath as a headliner? http://www.metalinsider.net/updates/...mmer-situation
Also very interesting from that article is that Brad Wilk has commitments with RATM! We can rule out Sabbath for Lolla in August, seeing as they just played last year. RATM did Lolla only a few years ago as well. With Geezer stating that both bands are going to be active this summer, I think both are strong possibilities for OSL.
I wouldn't look to much into that comment. If he would have said Clufetos is the drummer because of Wilk being with Rage then I would have more faith in it. but the fact he says I think and not sure of commitments yet I think he really doesn't know.
Either way if both bands are touring I think they will either get one or the other but not both. Hopefully it would be Sabbath. New material and no Rage fans. I love Rage, one of my favorite bands, but there coachella appearance had some of the worst most disrespectful fans I have ever seen in my life.
http://www.sfoutsidelands.com/ seems to be down. Just me?
So sasquatch and OSL dropping the same night?
No way OSL drops this early with no build up.
might actually be rage: "When asked whether it’ll be Rage Against The Machine’s Brad Wilk (who recorded drums on the album) or Tommy Clufetos joining them onstage this year, Butler said 'We’re not sure yet. We don’t know beause I think Brad’s got commitments with Rage Against The Machine. So it’ll probably be either Tommy or Brad, depending on their commitments.'"

I think they may have a great line-up. I'm sure they caught word about the Bottlerock festival and their line-up and wouldn't want to be upped by them.
