mind numbingly epic first post^
oh god. here we go.
Mumford & Sons do cover Daft Punk songs.
4/15: Tama Sumo @ Seattle
4/25: Rolling Coastal Blackout Fever, Sloucher @ The Crocodile
4/27-30: Stagecoach
5/16: Mount Kimbie @ Neumo's
5/25-27: Sasquatch
The XX and Postal Service are playing some shows in the area in between their Coachella weekends. If we are to apply the same logic that we're using for Green Day, we'll call it the Law of Spring, then we can assume that these festival staples will not be showing up again in August.
In regards to that tweet, it might have meant more if it was coming from Ranger Dave, would be cool though if OSL's was the one to book DP when all other failed...![]()
It's a nice theory, but it's not exactly true. For example, Explosions In The Sky played SF in between their Coachella appearances last year and then went on to play at OSL later in the year. http://consequenceofsound.net/2012/0...ng-tour-dates/
Furthermore, although he/they didn't play Coachella last year, Washed Out played SF (Mezzanine) even later (May 4, 2012) and then appeared at OSL three months later. http://consequenceofsound.net/2012/0...12-tour-dates/
It's not. acts that play at APE venues in the months before OSL are likely to play OSL.
4/15: Tama Sumo @ Seattle
4/25: Rolling Coastal Blackout Fever, Sloucher @ The Crocodile
4/27-30: Stagecoach
5/16: Mount Kimbie @ Neumo's
5/25-27: Sasquatch
best case scenario
Macca, Rage Against the Machine, Black Sabbath (or Depeche Mode)
Elvis Costello, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The National, Wu-Tang Clan
Umphreys Mcgee, Infected Mushroom, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Postal Service and XX are playing two shows each in Oakland/Berkeley in July means they are not going to be at OSL. I understand your point about EITS but shows in April compared to multi-night shows at large venues in July don't really compare. However, you are right in saying that bands that are playing the bay area in April are still on the table as far as potential OSL bands.
I feel like we should be getting an announcement on early bird sales sometime soon.
dont play with my emotions with this Rage against the mahcine talk!
I know they have already headlined the festival once but Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are touring again this spring summer and have announced a residency in LA but nothing for San Francisco. It could happen. I happen to love Tom Petty and would be very happy if this were the case.
When does this lineup come out normally? Post coachella?
Ods The only act of those I enjoy is umphreys but If those are the headliners I would be happy with shitty twin peaks closers. No need for more conflicts
dammit i'm gonna be at SXSW...
11/21 - Pearl Jam - Viejas Arena
I was at SXSW last year but luckily my buddy hooked up some early birds for me. I can't remember how much cheaper they were compared to tier 1 tickets but I don't remember it being a huge discount.
And they started posting Instagram clues on 4/11 at 9:37 am. So right before Coachella they start teasing the line-up and announced the full line-up after the first weekend. At least they did last year.
Their instagram clues are actual album covers for bands that are playing, which is much better than the totally cryptic Roo Clues that make little to no sense.
Assuming they do the same instagram clue thing again this year. Before that it was Ranger Dave tweeting clues in the same cryptic way so who knows what they will come up with this year.
As far as early bird goes I remember buying it a few years back and it was something like a 10-15 dollar difference. It might be different now but I just remember it not really be worth it without a line up to go by.

Outside Lands Music Festival
Outside Lands is right around the corner. Stay tuned for ticketing info and lineup announcements coming soon!
Eager Beaver tickets soon? Yes, please!
Id say Phoenix is very likely being that they will be in North america the weekend before for that goldenvoice fest and they havent announced a Bay Area date yet.
Here's a similarly timed festival:
