This is pretty interesting. It is "the largest regional" burn this guy said. It is the South Africa Burn. Worth the 10 minutes imo. I also think the technical part is really superior. Watch in HD if you can for sure ...... PF, you might like this if you haven't seen it .... cr****
The 2013 Temple design is highly geometrical, and will be built using Fleishman’s patented connectors at each joint, capitalizing on the intrinsic strength of the arch at every opportunity in an interlocking jigsaw of triangles and pyramids. No nails, screws, or other metal connectors will be used at all. The gross form of the Temple will consist of a large central trussed pyramid, sixty-four feet tall and eighty-seven feet square, with four smaller satellite pyramids measuring twenty feet tall and twenty-nine feet at the base, intricately interlocked and ornamented in Fleishman’s signature style: Archimedes, Pythagoras, and R. Buckminster Fuller holding hands and enjoying some really good acid.
Woo-hoo, ticket showed up yesterday. I'm heading back home, and I switched camps this year. Used to be with Playa Surfers (*great* group out of LA, they're the group bringing the massive Tiki Island MV this year), but this year i'm with the Boston-based Automatic Subconscious. We'll be somewhere on the Esplanade with our tall dome; doing the Bootie mashup party one night, a bunch of fun happy hours, some silk-acrobat show things, Postcards from the Playa, and a bunch more events.
Got my tics yesterday. I still need to find a friend to go with since I have an extra ticket. I feel going solo is not a good idea for the first time but that is my usual style so still unsure. But YEA, tickets and SURVIVAL Guide in hand .... cr****
We're getting close! I'm overly excited about going for my first time, so excuse any ramblings that I clutter this thread with.
I've been pouring over the eplaya forums for the past few days (editing video has lots of down time) reading everything I can. Reading through the "what did you forget last year" thread almost gave me a heart attack thinking about all the things I might accidentally leave at home. I feel like going to coachella is so easy, I could basically forget everything, but as long as I have my wallet (and ticket), and at least one pair of clothes, I'll be fine. Smelly, but fine. But heading out to the desert for a week has me a little more concerned about getting all my stuff together.
I know a few people going, sort of friends of friends who I could probably team up with, but as for now I just plan on going alone and trying to meet some new people, maybe run into some of you fine people as well. Think I'll be alright? Or am I sort of taking some of the fun out of it by not committing to a group right away?
