    I'm guessing that Mumford & Sons are the type of band that if one of the main members can't do it, they don't play at all and I can respect that.

    I'm sure Bonnaroo knew they weren't playing, they probably just asked for some time to find a replacement first.

    Jack White perhaps?

    Great, he's out of the hospital. Which clearly also means he's in condition and ready to play a 90 minute headlining set at a massive music festival.

    I don't like this band, but I respect them more for not doing what you suggest here. It would be disingenuous to the idea of what being in a band is supposed to mean.

    As for not cancelling sooner, I suspect that they probably didn't because they were hoping to be able to play. Or because they were more preoccupied with the well being of their bandmate than they were with fucking Bonnaroo.

    Eh, if they bring in an outside replacement (as opposed to just elevating Bjork or the Lumineers to that slot), my money is on Jack Johnson. He showed up last night to play a few songs with ALO, he was in Nashville recording at Third Man. He'd be (I assume) relatively cheap, and would likely appeal to the same crowd who was excited for Mumford.

    I find it people who like Mumford will enjoy Jack Johnson... I think the really tragic thing is I still have to hear the same 5 songs from them on the radio, in every coffee shop I go to, and in the random off the wall department stores I frequent.

    This band is my go to when I'm telling people that you can have a band ruined for you when they're played more than they should be.

    Yeah, I love how the last two years the weather has been insanely good. Pretty much every year prior was just miserable humidity with 90 degree heat, now it's like mid-80s, dry and breezy.

    I would think Mumford & Sons would also probably make sure that they are able to close out Glastonbury next week as well so why take a chance with the mans health and give him a bit more time to recuperate. Kinda missing the farm right now too, as long as it's not a deathly humid heat fest.
