How high do you have to be to think it would be a good idea/necessity to bring drugs to a psychedelic music festival? That's literally what that whole bringing sand to the beach term is describing.

Where are you hearing this? With camping now an option, I'd seriously consider this festival.
That LA fest looks cool, I would like to see Master Musicians of Bukkake. Austin is kind of a hipster city so I would imagine you can find some stuff around
DREAM BIGGER
Im sure those non psych rock bands you are talking about are at the festival, gribbz.
It's true. Why, when waiting in line for a beer and a fried chicken and bacon sandwich (at least that's what I remember it being, it might have just been a bottle of water and a hot pocket), my friend and I were approached by KC and Joe King who offered us a share of their stash of Webster (apparently from CA but I've never heard of it) and we shared our flasks of Four Roses.
Moral of the story? There will be plenty there to enjoy. Bring what you can for sharing, but don't push it.
I would love to see Exit Calm added to the lineup...

I was listening to that first ep from Vietnam this morning, man I'm looking forward to seeing this live. I had thought they broke up a long while ago
Shitty video, but the best I could find
DREAM BIGGER
Nice, I dig it
DREAM BIGGER
18 bands a day, not too bad. If they only have 2 stages we should be able to catch a little bit of everything if we want
DREAM BIGGER
Ah, too bad. I'm still curious to see who the headliners are they will be announcing
DREAM BIGGER
Additions should be announced today... and then there's THIS:

No alcohol in the camping? I thought Coachella was the only festival to be that dickish
DREAM BIGGER
I chuckled when I saw the "family camping" option.

Free Metz/APTBS show. Awesome!PRE PARTY – THURSDAY, APRIL 25th
Two bands playing as part of the April 25th official pre-party have been revealed–A Place to Bury Strangers, making their 3rd Austin Psych Fest appearance, and fellow noise lovers Metz will be kicking off the weekend at The Mohawk. Holy fuck I love these adds!! Silver Apples, Om, Roky, Os Mutantes, and Moving Sidewalks!! So happy about this. I don't know the other bands, but have heard good things about most of them. This surpassed my expectations. Ooh would really like to hit that pre-party too.
