With vegas hotel prices that week. Travel from your socal destination. All the shitty traffic you have to sit in to get their and back burning fuel or droppin another 75 on a shuttle pass. Spending 8 dollars for drinks at your hotel pool. That shit adds up. They both are expensive if you live in socal but at least once you get to detroit you dont have to deal with the headache that is EDC. I got a press pass last year and even if I get one this year I am not going.

haha I knew I was going to be given shit for my excessive use of quotations. But basically this:

So many people that used to talk shit now go. Scene is so wack. You cant even dance without someone judging you.

And so many people go now just because it's what's trendy at the moment, but they have no idea what it's about. I'm not saying you have to be "OMGZ PLUR", but at least be somewhat respectful, which, it seems like, has completely gone out the window completely.

Last time I checked there was a good portion of people from So cal who went and didnt destroy their wallets in the process. so either you just have a mindset of ''Detroit is really fucking far away'' or ''I am terrible with my money, so this is going to cost a fortune''.

My card was finally charged this morning ($333.18) for the 3-day pass I bought on Wednesday. Still no email receipt or confirmation of any kind yet, but not really concerned. I know the email will come.

2 years ago earlybird price I paid around $189 I think. Hopefully $333 for this year is pretty close to EDC's ceiling, I don't seem them making their tickets cost more than Coachella's 3-day.

If I remember correctly, Livenation owns Hard and Cream. Hard Stage at EDC, Insomniac and Cream are throwing EDC London together, and Livenation has the rights to the San Manuel Amphitheater - which insomniac used for Beyond Wonderland. Sounds like some sort of agreement to open up more venues for Insomniac?

More along the lines of a big investor and probably part of the deal they made to go overseas with EDC. No way Livenation buying Insomniac flies so far under the radar that no one picked up on it.

For what it's worth, Destructo (Gary Richards) is on the EDC Chicago lineup as well.

Live Nation just wants a piece of the pie. They thought their Identity Festival idea was going to work, but it didnt, so this is another way to have a presence in the event side of electronic festivals after making a deal with HARD. Insomniac is fine financially and doesnt need to make a deal like this anyway. Im surr Ultra was approached too but said no.

For what it's worth I offer you this: While waiting for Benny Benassi to autograph a poster at the Zia Records tent at Coachella I asked him if he would be at EDC Las Vegas, he confirmed. I also spoke with Moby and he acted as though he had never heard of the event. It was very hard to tell if he was F'ing with me. I don't expect him to be there.
