Riot Fest: 9/11-13 @ Douglas Park
Matt Nathanson: 10/19 @ Majestic Theatre
let's have this.
The Rolling Stones - Deadmau5 closing
Daft Punk - Blur before
Black Sabbath - Not sure
The Rolling Stones will get money at Coa.
Daft Punk, new album supposedly and enough people have banged on about it. Blur, although not huge in America before them is top too and possibly The Stone Roses that day? or would they be another day?
Black Sabbath, if Roses are in Aus in march then play, same can easily happen with Sabbath and why not get a deal done if you had one before Lolla got them anyway? People on the majority would love this I reckon.
Also just thought, Jack White to sub them would be amazing.
Deadmau5 - The Stones
Daft Punk - Blur
Sabbath - Jack White
The one thing I can see different would be either Chilis/Pearl Jam instead of The Stones/Punk and I'd say Punk are more likely to appear. How often do Coa and Lolla share a headliner? I recall las year being Sabbath and 2009 being The Killers.
I can't really see Deadmau5 playing after the Stones. Maybe more likely to have Sabbath --> Deadmau5 on Friday with the Stones closing out the fest on Sunday? Either way. All this DP talk is getting me too excited for only being October.
Skrillex 2013 tour dates:
1/24/13 – Montreal, Canada
4/12/13-4/21/13 POLO FIELD-SIZED GAP
7/12/13 - Montreal, Canada
7/13/13 - Toronto, Canada
7/17/13 - Winnipeg, Canada
7/19/13 - Calgary, Canada
7/21/13 - Vancouver, Canada
I figure there is typically a "played on Kroq every 5 10 minutes" headliner. we'll probably wind up getting Phoenix or (ugh) Mumford and Sons
Is Phoenix's album coming out soon? If it's a hit I could see it.
I believe there was something mentioned about a summer release, so maybe not
Heard from a reliable prison guard that Pussy Riot is a lock for 2013.
Black Sabbath will 100% not be there in 2013
11/21 - Pearl Jam - Viejas Arena
Looks like Consequence of Sound is following this thread again, but at least they are crediting posts this time...
Passion Pit? It is not a "no" response.
For your health
Yeah from what I've read (that Pitchfork article), they could be on the bill and still be liable to drop off.
Walkmen/Father John Misty with the familiar LA date skip:
01/21 – Denver, CO @ Ogden Theatre #
01/24 – San Francisco, CA @ Fillmore #
01/26 – Portland, OR @ Roseland Theartre #
01/27 – Seattle, WA @ Neptune Theater #
01/28 – Vancouver, BC @ Commodore Ballroom #
# = w/ Father John Misty
*based upon tedious fact checking.
The Walkmen are long overdue and I would be pretty excited to see them on the lineup next year. In addition to the Walkmen, I would like to see My Morning Jacket, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sigur Ros, Art Brut, and of course Daft Punk all make appearances from the 2006 poster.
I remember stumbling into the Walkmen set not knowing who they were in '06, god that dude has such a powerful voice and they kill it live.
