the real question is: would she have been a better booking 3 years ago?

Because Coachella is a big deal, he hasn't played it, he's got a long history with Southern California and because, why the fuck not?
I'd say that if there were a place for Bowie to do his one-off (two-off, whatever) Coachella would make sense. I still doubt that he plays, but I could see it over something like Glasto.
I just want something to happen already...
Upcoming Shows:
Glasto's a big, conventional sort of thing. Coachella is, comparatively, still young, exciting and about getting the "new" thing. That seems like Bowie's bag. Plus, singing in dry desert air would be easier than the damp British nights.
And yeah, he also lives in the US.
He does have some semential value when it comes to Glastobury . I remember reading him saying he was at one of the early 1970s Glastos' and he camped right infront of the pyramind stage....BUT the first coachella rumor I have ever heared was while standing at the barrcade of the main stage all day over hearing that Bowie is going show up since the logic was " Nine Inch Nails is playing.......David Bowie CONFIRMED!"
Thought NIN would do 'Dead Souls', with New Order, after having had come on right after them, but alas... So no 'Dancing in the Streets' for you, yuppie.
Superfan will be in front of the Fonda masturbating furiously to a photo of him taking a photo of a band. Set is from 8:05 to approximately 8:05:15. Guest list only.
Upcoming Shows: Spamalot (7/31), HARD (8/1) 2001 Space Odyssey with LA Phil (8/12), Opeth (10/18), TOOL (10/31), Coachella 2016 (WK1), David Gilmour (Wherever I need to go)
Hmm tomorrow Kendrick is making his Good Kid Maad City tour announcement tomorrow. Maybe it'll come out with the rest of the lineup?
FWIW, After the 1/11 Purity Ring show, my friend ended up talking to Megan and asked if they planned to tour the West Coast soon (we both live in San Jose). She said they're playing Coachella and a handful of other dates in April.
Wonder what are the chances of The XX playing Coachella with these Aussie tour dates: http://www.inthemix.com.au/news/aust...pril_2013_tour
Tuesday, April 2 – Metro City, Perth
Thursday, April 4 – Festival Hall, Melbourne
Sunday, April 7 – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Tuesday, April 9 – Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Brisbane
Bro...... lil bro.... NO FUCKING GEEZERS HEADLINING. Maybe Bowie could swing it, as he's David Fucking Bowie.... but what in the hell makes you think Neil Young and Crazy Horse could headline Coachella without comparing Coachella to lesser festivals that Neil Young and Crazy Horse have headlined? I find it disturbing that you think it's okay to barf this shit up on this thread. Have you personally seen Neil Young play in the last five years? It's truly an abomination. He's ruining his great songs with old age. Farm Aid is fucking tragic. Geezer rockers have their place. Neil Young has Farm Aid. Eric Clapton has Crossroads. Ozzy has Ozzfest. If you really want to see these guys stink up a festival, by all means, GO TO THEIR FESTIVALS, and stop bringing them up as if they could be headliners at Coachella. Thank you.

The Killers and Phoenix? Please no...
Although if they introduce a new tune with Daft Punk I may approve..
