Thursday/Friday in Eastern Canada. So Friday/Saturday W1 are logically out.
Very "weak" headliner for Sunday night give the other big names floating around. A somewhat "lazy" booking.
They wouldn't open for a Stones with a 75 minute set.
Arena dates can be moved around, where as insurance companies/promoters might be hesitant on a pair of fixed weekends.
Yeah, it'd probably take years to legally get any kind of Beastie Boys with various acts show going, and tons of time working it out too, but I'd definitely like to see that before some forty year old washup reunion. Hopefully the Beastie Boys haven't hung up their hats just yet.
Have you seen their live act? Pretty electric. Look at it this way. Would MJA and RSW stop trolling the boards ceaselessly if Drewski suddenly had a fatal stroke? No chance in hell. I'm just hoping Mike D/ Ad-Rock/ MMM will still take the stage in some form together. If they do take the stage, I find it hard to believe they would play specifically non-Beastie songs when they could easily mix it up with special guests.
I mean... have you ever done something for thirty years, then tried for some reason to stop? That should be why enough for you in itself.
Confirmed according to Monklish.

I hope they play live as well. It just won't be called "Beastie Boys" without a charity angle or very creative billing. RUNDMC members aren't flush so they have different motivations.
BB didn't "tour" for 30 years. They did 1 full tour in the final decade of Adam's life.
Andre 3000
Notorious BIG
Nas
Jay-Z
DOOM
if we're talking top 5 MCs

Unless you're the Grateful Dead, music doesn't specifically revolve around touring. Playing music is something you can avoid for months at a time, at best, but it always comes back to you. I look forward to seeing where they take the act.
I had a dream that Usher, Arcade Fire, and The Rolling Stones are headlining... Bad sign?

Bumblebee you're wrong on this one. I might not be the biggest Beastie fan but I sure loved them. So much actually that I skipped Daft Punk Brooklyn show for Beastie's first Brooklyn show. I think I made the right choice
ps Paul, do you remember when Beasties were supposed to go on tour with Rage in 2000? Ah good memories
Their show wasn't as good as Sonic Youth/YYYs, but it was a good time.
