A Perfect Circle will play Buenos Aires on Apr. 2 at the Malvinas Argentinas Indoor Stadium - from APC's Facebook. They have a show in December in Vegas as well which I believe has already been mentioned. Good to know they're doing more than just one show. Wonder if they could make an appearance. Also rules out Tool imo
And half a dozen shows in Australia, but I guess shows in the land of Oz don't count.

Hey Mr. Hand:
So lets help you figure this out:
Who replaced Black Sabbath?
First:
Why did Sabbath cancel? Tommy Iommi went public with lymphoma diagnosis January 13th -
Coachella lineup goes public approx January 19th-23rd
The 3 headliners of 2012
Radiohead - Black Keys - Dre and Snoop Dogg*** (Now Snoop Lion)
Here's what we can assume:
Radiohead - Locked in early, September/October most likely (Coachellla had supposedly reported booking 2 headliners already), reaping the largest back end cut due to popularity, fans could most likely sell out Coachella alone, they definitely did it in 04 and they definitely gushed for the "Thom Yorke????" - HUGE demand for Radiohead to come back to Coachella - We can assume Radiohead doesn't do filler gigs, they are British pricks (Sonofhal can confirm?)
Dre and Snoop - Began working with Digital Domain in Venice Beach, CA to design Tupac Hologram in the fall of 2011 - you cannot make a "hologram" like that in under 4 months. (January 15th to April 10th)
Black Keys - Played Coachella last year, are a generic rock band, relevant on KROQ - FILLER
SO. WHO DO YOU THINK REPLACED BLACK SABBATH AFTER JANUARY 13th?
Fine. But in 2013 I dont see it.
And yeah, I missed the lolla dates. My bad. Just started catching up on my research.
Also, I haven't read the forum banter that led to the conclusion that Dre and Snoop were the fillers, but I would love to see it considering how fucking obvious it is that it had to have been the Black Keys
False. Lineup was released January 9th.
I'm not trolling or in it for the argument. I just wanna know whether it was really the Black Keys or Snoop and Dre. Everyone on here is bitching about the Black Keys being the band with the most appearances so I think they were the replacements especially after sub headlining the previous year.
Thanks for the "help," but I already know where the speculation and deduction point, and I agree with your conclusion.
There was a specific claim made that who replaced BS had been confirmed. I have yet to see that confirmation, and yet the people making the claim keep insisting it exists.
It's not complicated: Source or GTFO.
The Black Keys were not the replacement act holy crap. How many times do we have to review this
So is the problem that you dumbfucks don't understand what "Source or GTFO" means? Or that you dumbfucks think you and your fellow boardies would actually be considered a source?
If anyone can find an article citing when they began working on the tupac hologram, I think that would be the best bet on what you're requesting.
edit:
Although MTV....
SourceThe Tupac hologram was several months in the planning and took nearly four months to create in a studio and though Smith was not able to reveal the exact price tag for the illusion, he said a comparable one could cost anywhere from $100,000 to more than $400,000 to pull off. "I can't say how much that event cost, but I can say it's affordable in the sense that if we had to bring entertainers around world and create concerts across the country, we could put [artists] in every venue in the country," he said.
I would say this strongly pushes Dre/Snoop being planned and the Black Keys as replacements

yeah i just read your last post mrhand - and you are correct - there is nothing official stating who replaced Black Sabbath, just that Black Sabbath couldn't make it and had a replacement. IRstoned

Yeah. Not really. They had a 2 week break before playing Coachella, and then continued the tour after weekend 2.
Also
Source
says it was a 4 month project
I just have a hard time understanding why they would book Black Keys to headline when they had just sub-headlined the year before.
