Have they played Coachella before?
Here's the tape, folks. Anyone who sees the possibility of further live concert dates out of Led Zeppelin -- much less fucking Coachella -- is engaged in some serious wishful thinking:
Edit: the New York press conference was the one I was thinking of, much clearer:
...but the BODY LANGUAGE!
Riot Fest: 9/11-13 @ Douglas Park
Matt Nathanson: 10/19 @ Majestic Theatre
I'm sure someone posted this from Rolling Stone that came out last week....
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...-busy-20121121The idea of a tour was batted around, but Page refuses to divulge the full list of singers who jammed with the group. Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy has publicly acknowledged rehearsing with the group, and Page doesn't deny that. "It sounded premature," he says. "I could see what way it was going. Various people thought we should go on tour. I thought we needed a good, credible album, not do something that sounded like we were trying to milk the O2."
Steven Tyler has also said he flew to England to jam with the band. "The timing wasn't the best," says Page. "We had put so much toward the O2. And the three of us were catching up with stuff. It was very good, seriously promising. But there was this other thing going on. [Pauses] And that's it."
DO YOU LIIII KRIH TUL JEAHL
Not to bring Bjork back into this (even though she kind of started it) - but if she's not capable of headlining Coachella*, then she's not coming back at all. No one in Coachella's entire history has come back after headlining to take a lower slot. Beck doesn't count because he's not even on the poster for 2004.
*And she is capable, so. yeah.

i agree, and that was my point. I don't think MSG has anything to do with chella, that's why i brought up all of that regarding past headliners.
i think Bjork could still headline, chella could have a much lighter lineup than last year and still ensure sell outs. chella has a hip factor that drives interest, particularly in SoCal, that and a devoted fan base. KROQ festivals can draw as much as chella closer to LA, using bigger names. Coachella doesn't have to. there are a few names that would bump bjork to sub, but not many, and even fewer that GV is gonna pay to book at this point.

Phoenix. Once again being liberal with the term 'filling' Madison Square Garden.
Sounds like a loser from Jersey who couldn't hack it to me..
(btw, i was attending shows at MSG when u were still watching backyard wrestling)

It does not matter who we "think" can headline. Does not matter. It doesn't matter if Goldenvoice decides they want Animal Collective to headline or Grizzly Bear or Wilco or R. Kelly or Rihanna or :insert your favorite band, artist or singer here: Doesn't matter. It mattered before when they needed to shift a large amount of tickets but Coachella has shifted, now people go for the "experience" and the music is merely icing on a cake now. Goldenvoice can make whoever they want as a headliner without having to worry about sales. The festival sold out without a line up and will continue to do so going forward. Until the time comes where the festival becomes irrelevant and sales falter then this discussion can be brought up again.
i'd love to see Animal Collective headline...i'd love it if we didn't have the 2-4 names per poster that have mass appeal. and if they could use that cash to fatten up the undercard even more, all the better.
yes, i'd love AC to headline Quatch. they might even do it next year..
if ur saying they don't have the fat on top, i disagree. Beck, Foo Fighters, Bon Iver.. chella tends to be a bit more ecclectic, whereas Quatch can fake it with the vast amount of local acts..and fest regulars that also played chella, lolla, and roo.

i also support Built To Spill at chella....even if it is about ten years overdue. Same with Imperial Teen.
