Thanks Concertgoer for not flaming me. This board can be a tad intimidating.
Yeah, I remember reading that. Thing is, I can't remember if it was here on the board or in an interview somewhere, but the reason, allegedly, that Daft Punk said no to both of those years was because they didn't have a proper album out to promote. They had the Tron soundtrack (Was it either one those years?) but that had the Disney name attached to it, and they wanted to tour behind something that was strictly theirs. Like I said, I can't remember if I read that somewhere on here, or in an interview somewhere. I'll have to look that up later.
NicolasMata look at my join date. October 2011. I was new to the board then.

Coachella 09, 10, 11, 12(WK1), 13(WK2), 14(WK2), 15(WK1), 16(WK1), 17(WK1), 18(WK1)
It's all about the music.
I can understand them not wanting to tour under the Disney name. I know for a long while Disney Ca adventure had the "electronica" nights. Maybe they wanted to separate themselves from that as well?
No Muse. So stop asking for it

Blur announced they'll be doing shows in 2013. I'd say they're still a possibility now.

"Blur have announced that they will be headlining Rock Werchter festival in Belgium next year.
The Britpop icons, who reformed this year for a string of intimate UK live dates culminating in a massive show in Hyde Park to celebrate the closing of the London 2012 Olympic Games, also hinted that they will play more dates in 2013.
"Thank you for waiting," wrote the band on their Facebook page. "Rock Werchter is about to announce that Blur will headline next July. We're excited.. hope to travel in 2013 to play to more of our lovely fans who we haven't seen for a while. Don't know where yet, we'll tell as soon as we do."
The festival takes place next year (2013) between July 4 – 7. Rock Werchter is Belgium's biggest rock festival with a capacity of 140,000. The only other headliners confirmed so far are Rammstein.
It is not yet clear whether the band will be playing any more new material for future live dates. Blur penned two new tracks – 'Under The Westway' and 'The Puritan' – for the Hyde Park shows, and the band have hinted that more could follow, with producer William Orbit telling NME earlier this year that the band had been in the studio working on new material with him. "
up until a month or so ago i would have said headliner, no question about it..... but now after some responses, remarks, research.... id say sub-head or at best co-headline w/ say Jack White or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
I think blur is co-headliner or 2nd billing...shits getting exciting with all these reunion and tour announcements
im waiting this year... part of my downfall is entering too early.
So now that the shitty headliner isn't Muse this year I'm kind of worried

sloppy seconds for being one of KOL's first stops on their upcoming tour at the time?
And OSL 2010
They did 4 songs from Come Around Sundown at Bonnaroo. Still not seeing how Coachella was at all exclusive.

I don't think anyone called it exclusive. Whether you like Kings of Leon or not the timeliness of it made sense, unlike booking RHCP who released that album back in 2011
Blur > Muse... I'm happy about this
Yeah, not to balk at acknowledged boardie inside info, but RHCP makes so little sense I have a hard time believing it’s actually true. They’d be supporting an album that was released 2 years earlier, and everyone on earth with an interest in seeing them live will have had ample opportunity over the preceding 18 months. They’re probably more expensive – and less of a draw – than other KROQ friendly acts who have actually released albums recently enough that people still care.
Not doubting the board member who brought it up, but maybe the source was pulling his leg and/or ill-informed. It just makes no sense that THAT'S the act they’d have all booked up a whole year in advance.
Keep in mind RHCP are releasing all those singles. Word is they will eventually package it all together(may end up being one whole set to promote) Just saying.
