I imagine The Knife would play around 12am, like Refused did this year.

So I guess Daft Punk is pretty much out for coachella. They have been rumored for Primavera for quite some time now and this all but confirms that they aren't touring this year.
"Daft Punk is confirmed! They just won't accept any gigs but Coachella, so they lie and claim a year of no touring. Don't listen to them, listen to me! I know somebody!" -asshats about to be proven wrong
They will be in the past.

When DP did Coachella in 2006, they didn't play another show for 2 months.
and what exactly does that prove?
April 24 - Queens of the Stone Age
April 26-28 - Levitation
Daft Punk played at Coachella in the past.
Why is Daft Punk out of the running for Coachella as several posters on this forum have stated?
This gives me a small hope that Guadalupe Plata might be at Coachella...or at least afford a small US tour.
i got my ticket but am worried about flying from california. whats the most cost efficient flight i can book?
Other than flying standby? Book a flight and dont look back. I went in 2010 out of LAX and it wasnt a big deal. Right now you can find something decent for about $1100. Thats pretty good considering flights cost a bit more around that time due to it being right before the summer travel season starts.
Keep tabs on airfarewatchdog, bookingbuddy and tripadvisor. You can get email alerts for flights to barcelona. Also, you could try to fly into Lisbon and to go Barcelona from there. It might be cheaper, and spending a couple days in Lisbon wouldnt be bad. Or you could wait for The Porto line up to come and go to Portugal instead.
Annnnd now I feel terrible for not waiting for this and putting some money into Glasto already. But thats life.
I think The Knife closes out Ray Ban after the main headliner performs. So 3am give or take.

My girlfriend and I just bought tickets last night. Fuck. We were spontaneously motivated by Deerhunter, the Knife, My Blood Valentine (among others) not being on the Coachella lineup we thought would have been locks. Still going to Coachella though.
I've never even been to Europe before. Fuck.
what am I doing? pray for baby sandwich.

Supre, I thought you struck out in the on sale. Going for photo?
I saw a roundtrip from lax for under a grand earlier on kayak. I am doing a multiple destination and flying into Berlin or Amsterdam the weekend before, which has been as low as $930 but not currently.

Also, i concur that $1000-1100 is going to be a very good cost as the festival takes place at the beginning of peak tourist season.

No, I have another (costly) way in. So really my only fault on this overall was buying a ticket to the XX thing before Glasto and some flights to a couple cities in europe due to insane fare sales. I could almost break even selling The XX tix at least, so really all I have to do is sort out what I do. Either Glasto, Prima or Bestival. And I got a week to pick cause Primavera ticket price goes up and I dont want to fork over an extra $40 I dont need to.
I've been looking up flights today. Going from JFK (which I can get to for free) on 5/19 and returning 5/28 there are some great deals. Almost certain I'm going to book a flight tonight and buy my ticket tomorrow. I'll figure out accommodations soon.
Can't believe The Knife won't be in Porto. Ouch.
that's good, but not as good as barcelona.
Well thats whats considered ''vip'' right? I think I looked around on that and you get access to go in between stages via a seperate tour, a seperate campground and you get to be on the side risers at the 2 main stages? I think its 300 gbp or so which is almost $600.
Well its loads cheaper, and I think last year was more of a mirror than this year, which is kind of suprising they werent able to have more overlap in Porto. Probably just scheduling since Sasquatch decided to grab a handful of acts.

im going too. i am not buying my plane ticket til i have enough for a hotel package... hopefully party size lol. if i cant afford that, i guess ill just do the hostel thing. dont wanna wait too long for the plane ticket to go up
Yeah, they seem to be on the rise. The amazing fare I found last week has now vanished, at least.
This will be me if I can see The Knife, Blur, Fiona Apple, Swans, Glass Candy on Friday all without conflict
Still need to figure out accommodations and I apparently need to call the airline to make sure my flight is booked. The confirmation page never finished loading when I booked, but I got a confirmation e-mail, so I figured it went through. But the money is still in my account.
Trying not to think about conflicts because there is so much I want to see.
