yeah any of the following can be number 2's on their respective day:Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Queens of the Stoneage, Sigur Ros, Blur, Stone Roses, & yes Atoms for Peace as well, because they will not headline. So replace them with Jack White or Depeche Mode
I would never want to belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member...

I've suggested before on this forum that having Blur/Roses being co-headliners on the same night(like Strokes/Kanye) would be interesting and also a very high profile world exclusive booking.
AFP being above 2nd spot is silly to me. Has anything from their catalogue raised above radio head related curiosity?
AFP couldn't headline based on their catalogue- they don't have one. Their debut album is coming out January 2013. However, they drew a giant crowd in 2010, and the project involves Thom Yorke and Flea. I'm not suggesting they could headline, but I could see them on the 2nd line just on their past Coachella visit, the members, and the hype of their album. Tons of Radiohead fans are wet with excitement over this album. Including me.
Good poster but whats with the shake weight party? There are some obvious face palms (Dash Berlin 6th line and AFP headlining) and the lineup lacks diversity. That said, substitute Neil Young for AFP and all would be forgiven
Yeah and 2 Chainz is easily the most popular name on Saturday and he's last line? PFT
I'ma ball at the mall shuttin' down the sea wall
I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
Sprinkle in a little reggae (steel pulse, barrington levy types), blues rock (Gary Clarke jack white genre), trap, rap, 80s new wave band (pet shop boys), metal/ hardcore and some WTF was that? Groups (shpongle, leftfield, Amon Tobin) strange shit. Maybe the lineup has groups I'm unfamiliar with that fall into these categories but from a quick glance this is what I see
Does Beyonce playing the Superbowl 2 weeks after the Coachella lineup announcement indirect reason enough to rule her out? I've heard rumors of her recording but not an imminent release date on the horizon. Are there touring plans connected to her superbowl gig?
This is entirely incorrect. Thom Yorke's solo album is their first album. When he initially toured in support of this album, the members of Atoms for Peace were the supporting musicians (Flea, Nigel Goodrich etc.) Because Thom didn't want this to be viewed as a solo project, he eventually chose Atoms for Peace (also the name of the sixth song on the album) to be the groups moniker.
I don't understand why they would not play Thom Yorke's solo album again. That is what they played on the last tour. Am I missing something here?

They also played Radiohead songs. Doesn't mean it's apart of their catalogue. They were a backing band for Thom. Now they're an actual band.
If they don't pull from Thom's album I am going to be very disappointed, and I don't really follow your logic. It's Thom Yorke's show after all.

Was is not announced before the festival he was callung the band atoms for peace?
I remember a ten page debate about it
.
Regardless, I dont see why they wouldnt play material from both the eraser and the new record.
who do you guys think will play sahara? i see pretty lights, axwell, aoki, bassnectar, rusko, skrillex, carl cox, armin, funtcase, dimitri vegas and like mike, trolley snatcha, and bloody beetroots
"Thom Yorke????" was announced on the lineup in January. The "Thom Yorke" name remained on the set times posted days before the festival, likely because of the high profile billing/stage placement. Officially the band went by AFP from Feb 25th onwards including tickets stubs and Merch available shows PRIOR to Coachella 2010.
By this logic Tin Machine is a potential headliner. Some Bowie is better than no Bowie and hardcore DB fans might actually welcome material from TM1/TM2.
Atoms for Peace = Thom Yorke solo project. Same band, different name. It's irrelevant whose name is on the record seeing as the only member of the band who didn't record on the album is Flea. Regardless of what you call it, the new Atoms for Peace album is the second album of Thom Yorke's side project from Radiohead.
