rarely with dead people though..
The original bass player for the Kinks has passed. There has been 15 or so members over the years. I think they can still get away with being called "the kinks." I'm not really familiar with Husker Du though.
EDIT* I doubt the Kinks will ever reunite. The two brothers hate each other.
Husker Du will never reunite. It would be great if they got Bob Mould to come back though.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
they gave him a 3pm Gobi slot, which kinda surprised me
EDIT: 2:30-3:20, Gobi

I don't think the Davies' brothers really hate each other any more. It seems like their break-up is more just stubborn habit at this point. They even make generalized references of a potential reunion in interviews every now and then. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they reunite as The Kinks someday, but (of course) the likelyhood of it happening at Coachella is small.
No one from Husker Du is dead, and they don't hate each other, either. Bob Mould and the other main song-writer even took the stage together a few years ago and played some Husker Du songs at a benefit show (for Soul Asylum's bassist, who died of cancer). Their break-up was more about moving in different directions in their lives, and for Mould to get away from the drug and booze environment surrounding the band. Still, this one probably won't happen, but that's kind of the point of surprise reunions.
i totally agree, i just think we're more likely to get a Bob Mould solo set or Ray Davies & the 88..
although, i think the Glenn Danzig Experience or whatever, is much more likely

I think Edward Sharpe, Phoenix, Pretty Lights, Das Racist, Crystal Method, XX, Mau5, Atmosphere, Tyler, Cat Empire, Rebelution, Grizzly Bear, Panda Bear are some good guesses...Skrilly is gonna be there, if he's not i'll be (pleasantly) surprised- same with Aoki and the like for the ravey boppers' name recognition![]()
Cudi, Matisyahu, Pepper would be really cool. Two Door Cinema Club and Tallest Man on Earth would be great returners

id take it... considering Sigur Ros would be on the Outdoor against Green Day..... Their performance last night on the VMAs was quite possibly the worst thing ive ever seen, and they should probably stop making music.
Yeah I'd be happy with that honestly regardless of how weird some of those placements are. I think taking Green Day out and putting MMJ in their spot would be more realistic though, or just about any of the other subheadliners
I hope coachella isn't anything like alot of these posters...
David Gilmour and Roger Waters play a show together every once in a while, but there is definitely no love lost between them.
Bob has written quite a few bitter songs about Grant. He has hardly gotten over it.
I would love to see a reunion of all three of them, but I don't think I'll ever see them together again.
That performance was absolutely the shittiest thing ever... And as it was happening, I was thinking "I already got my ticket, and these motherfuckers better not taint my best weekend of the year with their shit." I would be extremely disappointed if they were headlining a day...
I shudder to think what kind of crowd Green Day would draw, but overall I'd be pretty pleased with that. Galactic is a good call.
I would love that fake but I doubt that we will get three fairly traditional rock headliners.
This Green Day thing just got a little more interesting
