Just called Frontgate. They said if I have 3 people living at my address who all buy tickets on their own credit card, the transactions will go through with out any problems. They call disconnected before I got any more info. It was really easy to call them and get through, someone else should call and see if they get the same answer.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
Another fuckin' hurdle to jump. Why don't you just shoot my kids? Go ahead!! Shoot the fuckin' smile off their fuckin' adorable faces. G*d, I hate Coachella some times.
"Well, that's just like, you know... your opinion, man"
- Different name, same billing address = no problem (maximum limit enforced per buyer per address)
- Same name, different address = no problem (fails name verification, passes address verification)
- SIMILAR name, same billing address = second order rejected (parents named us all with same initials, brother overseas used my address but just put first initial and same last name which caused my later order under full name same *BILLING* address to be kicked out and cancelled at Frontgate, different shipping address had no bearing, verification check was triggered off of billing address + name match)
Called Frontgate immediately when this happened, nothing they could do even though they did see it come from two different accounts/emails as it some computer generated thing on their side that according to them first scans name combinations and then cross references to billing address.
Your mileage may vary, any more info would harm rather than help.
TLDR version: first and last name + billing address combo must be unique to get past Frontgate automated fraudulent order system.
I'm planning on placing two orders- each with one pass. so do I have to participate in this multiple address fuckery? according to the language, I should be fine but some people's anecdotal experience would suggest otherwise

Does anyone else see this as a good thing?
Now I don't have to pony up for everyone else in my group's tickets.
"Sorry bro, I'd get your ticket too, but ya know...rules are rules..."
I'm so confused. Will I have a problem if my shipping address is different than my billing address?
For the past couple years, I always sent an email request to have it mailed to my work. No problems.
Had someone do that to me recently, "I won't remember to buy a ticket for this event until 2 weeks before, and it will be sold out then. Buy mine for me."
Fuck those people hard core.
Its interesting they want to thwart scalpers so much, when really, people trying to scalp weekend 2 for the first time got screwed and ended up having to sell their passes for below face value. GV did sell out with the assistance of the greed of others for capitalizing on a concert. It was wonderful to see prices go from $500-600 per ticket to under $300. "I cannot go to the festival now and have 4 tickets @ 350, no wait, 320, no wait 300. Errr... Now selling tickets at 250 OBO. Please contact asap, it is thursday and I'm going to Coachella in 2 hours."
I'm all about weekend 2 for under 225.
Lottery ticket buying system is coming soon.
It'll all work out though, don't sweat it.

Obviously this is difficult for me to be able to take my kids with me. Already had decided my oldest can get her own tickets but the 2 youngest college aged kids have the same billing address and name as me- so I have to pick only one! Because for sure i am going! That is if Frontgate can let me in to my account! My password won"t work_ and they have tried sending me a temp one 3 times but it never arrives!!!
Frontgate is having problems with some e-mail addresses with firewalls-I had to set up a new e-mail just to get my password. For some reason the old password from last year did not work! this took about 24 hours to solve so check that you can get in to your account so you can get your only 2 tickets!
The FAQs have been updated with some clarification about householding of credit card names and billing addresses. (You might need to refresh the page to see new info.)
Yeah I just saw this and was about to post here:
Thank you GV for the clarification. I feel much more relieved now. What if my room mate and I both want to buy a pair of passes and have the same billing address?
As long as the two orders have two different names and two different credit cards, the same billing address will be ok in this situation.
There are more than two of us in my family, how can we get around this billing address thing?
As long as the two orders have two different names and two different credit cards, the same billing address will be ok in this situation. For example: Mom buys 2 with her visa and Dad buys 2 with his mastercard.
so if i have cards with steve, stephen, steven i can buy 6 tickets.
This is a relief. Way to do the right thing, GV.
For your health
Hmm... I wonder if my brother will let me borrow his credit card.
