I don't have a preference on a day but I am going to try to make it to the next one. I need to expand my music knowledge and stop playing poker all the time, the tables have not been nice to me lately.![]()

I agree that drinking and sharing conversation and music is fun. I just don't get the vinyl fetish. (fade in old folks music). I grew up with vinyl records, that's all we really had (8 tracks don't count) when I was a teenager, and even in the cassette era I bought vinyl and then just taped to blanks. I was quite pleased when CDs came along and am now even more pleased that I don't have to deal with anything tangible at all. I doubt you see much vinyl nostalgia from people who remember when that was the only choice. Borrowed nostalgia for the unremembered 70s. (fade out old folks music).
It's like, hey, let's bring back really bad lip syncing, not for a joke but because we really like it.
16th for me.
I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
Saturday June 16th @ 6PM!
Tom, you should come and lip sync! Not because it would be bad but because we would love it!
If he is I have some "Happy Sensations" you can offer him.
Sure, just so long as it sounds better, you know, like vinyl does.
EDIT: and for what it's worth, my record club is not strictly vinyl, I encourage people to bring all formats. But calling it the Bay Area CD Club or Bay Area MP3 Club, is designating a specific playback medium. Records =/= LPs. Calling it a "record club" signifies that we will be playing albums, or "records," in any format.
Ok I'm an idiot. I forgot I have to drive back to Utah that weekend to pick up my kids, so I'm out. Sorry.

Faxl, let me play at your party!!! Can we (meaning you) pick themes for the week/month. I'd be down for a cowpunk/altpunk week since I love the Meat Puppets, but don't listen much beyond them in that genre and would like to hear more stuff from other people. It seems to fit the hotness that is coming in July. A late 80s early 90s week would also be cool just to go down memory lane of KUKQ songs that a lot of us grew up on. Wouldn't mind listening to Material Issue Ocean Blue or Violator with you kids. Seriously, a few hours of alt 90s singles followed by an album in its entirety (Violator, God Fodder, Copper Blue, Bandwagonesque....). That would be cool. And then maybe another time for everyone to show off new music.
Up on the Sun where it never rains or snows!!!!
Cowpunk, you say?

I do not own any cowpunk but I wouldn't mind an education in it. It seems Tom should come and be part of this since he has covered this genre. I have a record player and a CD player however I do not have an MP3 plug in on my stereo. Late 80's early 90's would be great considering I mostly listened exclusively to hair metal during that period but I got into it in the early 90's and listened back. I do love me some Material Issue, Sugarcubes and Suzanne Vega though heh. I'm pretty familiar with that era actually and i'm down for whatever. I have NIN Pretty Hate Machine, Tori Amos Under the Pink, Smashing Pumpkins Gish and a couple of others.
I like how you just have this ready for my somewhat random request. Well done! I'll definitely spend some time with these albums. It's a good style of music to listen to while sitting outside in the sun drinking cheap bottles of wine. I've only heard of the Beat Farmers, but I've never listened to them.
Fly High Michelle, buddy. I'm into plenty of hair metal and occasionally make my way to shows at Club Red. Faster Pussycat has been consistently good. I was drunk listening to 90s stuff when I posted the other night: Specifically, Sugarcubes Life's Too Good. Not a consistent album, but lots of classic songs. But I'm feeling bands from that era lately.
Faster Pussycat was definitely a favorite back then as was L.A. Guns. I had Life's Too Good on cassette and listened to it often.
I'm in!
Do we want to push it out a couple of weeks because it's only a couple of us (though we did do it last time with just a couple) or should we still do it?
I can do it June 23rd or June 29th or 30th. I'm sorry about this weekend.I'm going to be in hell driving back and forth from Salt Lake City. Believe me, I'd rather listen to records with you all. Last time was fun.

Timestreatch is in. I say we do it. If it's ok with you guys can we push it back to 7:00pm? I will be at Connor's birthday party until probably 5 or so and would like to clean up a tad and shower. Feel free to bring any beer or booze, I have some but not as much as usual and no time for a total wine trip ha ha.
So just to keep this organized.
