I never ever ever ever ever ever want to see Adele at Coachella. Blech.

And New Order would be billed lower now than they were in 2005, too. I read an interview with Alan from Neon Indian talking about seeing them at Ultra this year with less than 1,000 people. Granted, that's an Ultra crowd, but a Hook-less New Order (no pun intended) simply isn't going to be a huge draw in 2013.
Signed,
a huge New Order fan.
Apparently I need to take Aja out of the cd case in my car.![]()
Oh, shit. Really?
And I agree, a Hookless new order wouldn't be much of a draw.
I have a bit of inside info. Just that they didn't enjoy it. Heard a rumor that it was just all the dust and dirt and heat, but I honestly think it's because they're not a good American festival band. They don't like to change their setlists (Dave can't handle it) and their tours (much like Radiohead's) focus on their new material and not just the hits or their old bodies of work. Their performance was just ok....they really didn't seem to be having a good time (they were having a hard time engaging the crowd, etc.) The next night in Vegas was hands down the best DM show I ever saw.

No, don't, don't cut my hair, Ned loves my hair.
You want to give that interaction another read over? Because I'm pretty sure I interpreted what they said correctly. That the Foo Fighters would be a poor headliner because they are a "second tier" headliner at Outside Lands.
I think that is a ridiculous statement because there are very, very few acts that would be listed above Stevie Wonder, Neil Young and Metallica.

COACHELLA VETERAN
2001 ~ 2007 ~ 2010 ~ 2011 ~ 2012
What a horrible setlist; out of the eleven songs they played, Coachella got four Waiting for the Sirens' Call songs (these were new songs at the time, but still) and three Joy Division covers:
Atmosphere
Waiting for the Sirens' Call
Regret
Transmission
Hey Now What You Doing
Krafty
Jetstream
Bizarre Love Triangle
Love Will Tear Us Apart
Crystal
Blue Monday
call me old skool But i would like to see a Public Enemy, EPMD, or NWA reunion With a Eazy E Hologram!! lol!! But Beastie's are always a shure bet!!!!!!!!
It wasn't just that they're a second-tier headliner at OSL but that they've played just about every festival but Coachella the last couple of years. (I know, I know, they haven't played Bonnaroo either. I was exaggerating.) Lolla last year, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage festival this week, Bamboozle next month (another mid-tier festival), then OSL in August, on top of having just toured the country extensively last fall. I noted that I'd like to see them, I just don't think they'd be a good booking next year due to how unoriginal it would be. Like Black Keys this year, although they at least had a new album to promote. (Of course, if Foos have a new album to promote as well, that could be a different story.) But yeah, if Coachella is going to use another festival's headliner next year, at least have the decency to make it one of that festival's top 3. Staying with OSL, let's do Stevie Wonder or Neil Young if we're recycling one of their acts.
we can all do with out GreenDay!!
Beasties = not touring or performing any time soon.
NWA = If Ice Cube, Yella, and MC Ren were not joining Dre on stage this year with all endless and dull line-up of guest MCs that joined his set his year, it isn't going to happen, period. Plus, I want to say that they said that the NWA mini-set performed at during the Up In Smoke tour was the last time that a "reunion" was going to take place.
Public Enemy = Played in 2009, on the outdoor. Would love to see them back, but I don't think they'll be headlining anytime soon.
EPMD = That be great for all the true hip-hop fans, but so would Company Flow, and judging by their crowd turn-out this year... yeah, I dunno about this.

here goes 8 full months of talking about outkast and daft punk...
at least we don't get the radiohead talk this year.
Friday - Incubus - deadmau5 closes main
Saturday - Pearl jam
Sunday - Outkast (reunion) Daft punk closes festival
I wouldn't mind the Foo Fighters so long as the counterprograming was good. It's not like I saw Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, or Jay-Z these past couple of years...
