The mentions for Jack White seem silly. I can easily see him as the subheadliner but now that every other festival got their grubby hands on him it would be an incredibly weak booking for Coachella to have him as headliner
The Black Keys
No Doubt
Beyonce
Skrillex on the main.
This joke gets funnier each time you say it.
Seriously, though, Korn headlining with a reunited White Zombie playing right before would be incredible. It's been 6 years since Coachella had a hard rock headliner. Need to get somebody hardcore to make the prudes uncomfortable again.
Friday: Animal Collective + Beastie Boys (not who I want, who I'm predicting)
Saturday: Depeche Mode (Portishead sub)
Sunday: Korn (White Zombie sub)

Pearl Jam

The Black Keys were a second-tier headliner at Outside Lands in 2011, and they also played everywhere these last couple of years, and then they headlined Coachella in 2012... so I don't think it's that unlikely for the Foos to do the same. And as much as I'm whatever about the Foo Fighters, if they were the top name on the bill for Friday, I don't think there would be a huge stink about it. That's a fairly respectable Friday night headliner.
Black Keys this year are a weird exception to all of the various rules because they graduated to headliner status with an album that came out while they were still touring the previous record.
The Rolling Stones as the "rock" genre, especially with their 50th Anniversary tour being pushed back until 2013.
Noir and I have been throwing around the idea of Beyonce as being a possibility, but I have doubts. Lady Gaga is quickly losing her luster and couldn't fathom GV picking up yesterday's trash.
If we're going with a female headliner (I'm bias for my ladies), I would prefer Goldfrapp although not sure if they could fulfill the "sell out a festival day quota". Madonna will probably not have an invitation back. Can't imagine the YYY's as being popular enough despite subing twice. Now that I've gone through multiple doubtfuls, I can see Gwen Stefani coming with No Doubt.
Daft Punk, but could go with Depeche Mode or New Order.
Also, seeing the influence recent bands have reaped, I'm throwing this out on a limb: Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers or Michael McDonald. Yes, I'm kind of serious too.
Simon & Garfunkel

Though it'll probably be No Doubt.

How about some Human League?
2/26-Robert Plant (Phoenix Symphony Hall)
3/4-Whitney Rose (Rhythm Room)
3/16-Lorde (Gila River Arena)
3/17-Pot of Gold Festival
3-23-25-Innings Festival
4/2-Brian Fallon (Crescent Ballroom)
5/1-Tyler Childers (Crescent Ballroom)
5/2-Justin Timberlake (TSR Arena)
5/14-Kendrick Lamar (Ak-Chin Pavilion)
5/23-Phantogram/Tycho (Van Buren)
7/10-Radiohead (Madison Square Garden)
8/10-Pearl Jam (Safeco Field)
8/13-Pearl Jam (Washington-Grizzly Stadium)
4/13-15-Coachella Weekend 1
I like Simon and Garfunkel, but I'm not sure if they'd work for Coachella. We can't even keep a few thousand people from talking during something like Jeff Mangum; I can't imagine how bad it would be for a Simon and Garfunkel headlining set.
Daft
Beasties
Stones
northside groove...southside groove....eastside groove...westside groove
Tony Bennett.

Goldfrapp couldn't headline a festival in England; they coudln't headline Coachella. New Order is headlining Bestival this year and they headlined Coachella in 2005, so I suppose that might be a possibliity, but Depeche hated playing the festival in 2006 and I'd be surprised to ever see them on the lineup again.
Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers/Michael McDonald would make people commit suicide from the Ferris Wheel. The Doobie Brothers are playing here in May at a 1,000 seat venue that isn't close to selling out.
Human League is possible as a player but no way are they near headliner status.
My sense is that even if they could book a set of headliners like
Bowie
Daft Punk
Outkast
... they wouldn't because it would make all subsequent lineups until the end of time pale in comparison.

Since we're talking about ladies, Adele would be cool. I know I'm just dreaming on that one though. Haha.
