Miike Snow were fantastic and I wasn't planning on seeing them at all.
Which set blind-sided you with awesomeness?
edit: shit can someone edit the thread title from 'What' to 'Which'?

Pulp was WAY more awesome than I thought. Also Sub Focus and St. Vincent. I knew St. Vincent was badass but the stage-dive singing was amazing.
Beats Antique
Breakbot surprised me in a bad way.
Givers were great. Also really liked the Hives. The singer was very entertaining. A great showman.
The Shins. I picked up Oh, Inverted World before coachella and it just didn't impress me all that much, but watching them play was magical. Totally love this band now.
Azealia Banks was indeed nuts, I had no idea her crowd and her set would be going off so hard!
Justice too, in the sense, they rocked it so hard in 07/08, then put out a shitty as fuck album compared to Cross, I had no idea what to expect from the new live set with new material, and they were chopping it up awesomely! I didnt much care for 10min versions of DANCE and AVD.... but, overall, I was jumping up and down and having fun, almost as much as I did back in the day.

For me it was Death Grips. I wasn't crazy about their studio stuff but their live show was a blast. Favorite show of the weekend by far.
April 24 - Queens of the Stone Age
April 26-28 - Levitation
company flow put together a really good set too. i'd heard some meh things about their set at ATP but the tent was empty so i figured i would check it out. walked right up to the stage and they went off. good show.
Azelia Banks: I was surprised her set was so short.
BADUM CHH.
i was surprised when i saw photos of the crowd at the airplane boys. i've never seen a crowd that small for any act ever.

Only caught four songs from Miike Snow, but they rework their songs great live. I heard good things about their show, but I had to see some to believe it. The Kaskade conflict was difficult.
I'ma ball at the mall shuttin' down the sea wall
Gotye and Death Grips
Was very pleasantly surprised by how rocking/great Feist was. I had previously thought of her as a mellow singer-songwriter but this show was dynamite, with 20+ musicians on stage. She herself was simply fantastic and I find I really want to seek out more of her music now that I know she got it goin on!
I also had not checked out Amon Tobin at all beforehand and was completely blown away. Not something I would have thought I'd like before going to the festival, but it totally opened my mind.
I was dragged to Calvin Harris, and I was dancing and grooving by the time he dropped Block Rockin Beats rmx.
VERY Surprised how far his set has come since I saw him on a pair of cdj's at Voyuer(which was absolute shit!) He must have learned how to use ableton or something...
Death Grips. The most unique act of the weekend that I saw. Some crazy shit was going on in there.
