Mazzy Star was kind of depressing. I wasn't feeling it, and that was the only full set I got to see that day. I wouldn't say they were the worst band though.
On a lighter note, yeah, its a character he plays. If his bitchass actually acted like that, he'd have a husband and 4 adopted kids by now.
THIS IS SOME REAL SHIT.
A$AP Rocky..although the couple songs I heard by awolnation were really bad. SebastiAn was disappointing, as was Nero.
Yuck . TERRIBLE
I feel like the people complaining about Mazzy Star have never actually listened to this band. What exactly did you people expect from the set? It was slow, yes, because 95% of their songs are in fact slow. Were you expecting a high energy punk show? I dunno, maybe the show was radically different from up at the front where I was, but to me it wasn't depressing AT ALL.
Yuck was terrible,
Frank Ocean was terrible,
Kendrick Lamar was not what I expected,
Zedd was no good,
I was yawning for Amon Tobin,
I walked away from The Black Angels.
2001 ~ 2007 ~ 2010 ~ 2011 ~ 2012
I fell asleep during Mazzy Star. I didn't hate it, but I was tired as fuck, and they just drudged on with their songs. I only recognized one song that plays at the end credits of every romantic movie ever. Fade into You I think?
Amon Tobin just sounded like the intro of a techno song for 20 minutes, with the occasional BLEEP or BLOOP. Cue lights flash. Boring.
I don't know if I want to call Destroyer the worst out on the lineup...but seeing a bit of that set simply reaffirms for me why Dan Bejar is my least favorite members of The New Pornographers
I dug their yacht rock
There was actually a lot of yacht rock at Coachella this year...Destroyer, Bon Iver...I counted a lot of saxophones as well as a couple instances of flute playing.
the sound was fucked up. i think it was the wind.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
Hmm I was near the front for Yuck so I didn't get any fucked up sound, it sounded fine to me. Hopefully weekend 2 people will not have the same problem and will not be put off of seeing them by this thread.
Has anyone mentioned Airplane Boys? On the stream there could not have been more than 100 people and they actually went into the crowd to sing cause there was so much room.
