I have no idea how they are even going to remotely fill that room.
I am there.
so talk about it here AND there...I wanted to focus attention on Mew tomorrow night at the Fonda...instead of everyone talking about a bunch of shows at once. People can look at the subject and decide if they want to contribute to this discussion, or if they'd rather talk about it in the broader "upcoming shows" thread.
Put it in the upcoming shows thread, its easier. If I did this for each show I went to, no other threads would be on the front page. Less clutter.
i'll be there if tickets are still avail at the door.
i dont really like em but my gf does...so watev.
But seriously, major LA-area shows usually warrant their own thread, while shows in other markets or more obscure acts should go in one big thread.

yeah whatev...see whoever is going in a few hours
this band was so *yawn*
and whats with the fucking lights?
i almost got a headache from the fucking white bright lights hitting my FACE.
they need to cool it with the lights man.
they did play two or three good songs tho.
i give this concert a C-
Tessa, why didn't you say hi to me at the show? Anyway, the music was good, the visuals were good, but the band seemed bored and unenergetic. maybe they have jet lag due to their tour.
What was the name of the opening band? I liked them alot, but thought they sounded a lot like modest mouse. Ya think? Think they were any good?
I saw Mew the other night at the Fillmore.
It was an absolute trainwreck.
Boy they sucked.
I would have rather listened to Yablo drone on about his portable dishwasher for an entire evening
Are you pushing it out, you ******?
the opening band(oh no, oh my) sucked so much.
they got boring really fast. and they do sound like
modest mouse, bloc party, and flogging mollys.
they sound TOO much like those bands if you ask me.
i hate derivate music. be original for fucks sake.
they straight out stole "float on"!!! wow.
I thought Mew was awesome...Oh No, Oh My kinda blew but whatever. I talked to the merch people about why Mew was not playing Coachella and they said that they were supposed to play Coachella but didn't have enough money to keep the tour going until the end of April and keep the band in California. Basically, someone in charge of their tour fucked up and they're missing out on playing Coachella, which would have definetly helped make them in the U.S.
That sucks, I think they would have fit in inside one of the tents.
Yeah, there's only 4 of them right? I think they would have fit in the tents too.
What I meant is their style of music would fit in with similar bands in one of the Coachella tents, or maybe the outdoor stage.
They would rock the Mojave for sure
Coachella would have been even better this year if Mew was there.
There albums are good, they were not quite as good live at the Fonda in Los Angeles.
I thought Bakersfield is full of honky tonks. When former Mayor Richard Riordan called Bakersfield boring on a radio show, he was forced to spend a day there.
