    Default GoGo Penguin

This one act was the clincher for buying tickets.
Ive been waiting to see them live for over a year. Their album is on regular replay.
Rarely do I go through the planning to be on the rail these day. Will be there for certain for this.

I listened to a couple of tracks and it was really nice & mellow. Debating seeing them in NYC in a couple of weeks.

I had never heard of them before Monday, but after listening to their stuff a couple different times yesterday I've really grown to like it; the live videos in particular have a real energy and spontaneity between the three of them. Should make for a very good early-afternoon Gobi set (kind of like Brandt Brauer Frick back in 2011).

These guys are fucking amazing musicians. I love in the first video buddy on the piano stretching that 10 note span like it aint no thing.

They've been on my radar all year and I keep checking their site to see when they're coming to town. Hopefully they'll have a smaller GV show before or after since it's a little harder for them to get out here from the UK.

And I actually totally did not expect to see them on the Coachella lineup so this was a nice surprise.

Should be a great way to start off Saturday. Had never heard of them before Monday, enjoying it a lot so far.

Damn these guys are something else. Really hope they don't get stuck playing too early. I hate myself for missing great acts that play too damn early, like Syd Arthur and Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger.

Hey, mikey, not to rub it in but Syd Arthur and Ghost were both well worth getting on the grounds early for. Syd Arthur is really good contemporary prog rock (also saw them open for Yes and they complemented them perfectly). And Sean Lennon and his gorgeous wife were much improved last year at Coachella from the first time I caught them at a show in Phoenix about a year earlier. Somewhat Beatles/Floyd-ish psychedlic music, but definitely 21st century with a dancier groove. Fun set to start the fest. If either are ever in your neighborhood, check them out.

GoGo Penguin's a nice find, thanks op. With Kamasi Washington there'll be some good jazz at the fest.

And badbadnotgood! Actually for Coach not being any sort of a jazz festival, I'm pretty happy with those three.

Coachella is a music festival, but that seemingly gets lost in all of this in regards to musical genres.

Speaking of badbadnotgood, would have to imagine ghostface killah is making an appearance given the recent album?

Anyone remember i think it was 2010? Badbadnotgood was supposed to play a late night show in the campgrounds and their bus broke down so they couldn't make it. Was pretty bummed at the time.

I wouldn't say it's a given (all three times I saw them this year he was not with them - only on shows specifically promoting them together) but it's definitely a possibility. Also last time I saw them Sam Herring from Future Islands came out and did their version of Seasons together and it was sick.

Caught them at Mercury Lounge tonight based on some thoughts here and enjoying what I heard on Spotify. Not what I'd typically seek out, but I'm really glad I went. Fantastic musicianship with no frills. At various points, you'd think the drummer had 4 arms & 3 legs. Great time.

    3/29 - Haelos @ Mercury Lounge
    4/5 - Autolux @ Bowery Ballroom
4/11 - The Last Shadow Puppets @ Webster Hall
    4/13 - Underworld/Bob Moses @ Fox Pomona
    4/15-4/17 - Coachella 2016
    4/21 - Grimes/Christine & The Queens/Tei Shi @ Shrine Expo Hall
    5/11 - Moderat @ Webster Hall
    6/9 - Rationale @ Knitting Factory Brooklyn

Right? Alex is a ridiculously fun front man, and made me enjoy the show more than I probably would have, first time I saw them. I didn't want to take my eyes off him.

The new album is truly stupendous!
Its amazing to me that they could release three albums, each greater than the last and each so fantastic.

Really hope they get a slot were I dont have to try and achieve miracles to catch them.
