Resident Advisor was selling tickets so I was able to get a pair through them! I haven't had the chance of seeing Disclosure DJ yet so I'm pretty stoked, hoping they play some of their amazing remixes. I think we'll be having brunch with some friends on Sunday but if that falls through I'll probably end up at Verboten again haha thanks for the tip.

Set times are great, no conflicts for me at all. I've got a feeling we'll leave early Sunday night. As bad as I wanna see Outkast again there's no way I'm not staying for the full Damon Albarn set.

Nice! Yes, they'll play some of their remixes and tunes for sure They played for about 2 hours last time so except them to go on around 2am! I'm sure the rooftop will be open so if the floor is too packed, you can see them perform from the second floor bar

I think Spooks said that because COS is constantly slurping Roo (not that it isn't a great festival but they seem to get some good interviews from the promoters and inside access at Roo so they are always pumping it up).

This. I could care less about what COS thinks is the best festival...I just found it funny because they promote the shit out of Bonnaroo every year

I really hope Bjork plays at MoMA or somewhere else other than GB...

    Björk

    March 8–June 7, 2015

The Museum of Modern Art presents a retrospective of the multifaceted work of composer, musician, and artist Björk. The exhibition draws from more than 20 years of the artist’s daring and adventurous projects and her seven full-length albums—from Debut (1993) to Biophilia (2011)—to chronicle her career through sound, film, visuals, instruments, objects, costumes, and performance. The installation will present a narrative, both biographical and imaginatively fictitious, cowritten by Björk and the acclaimed Icelandic writer Sjón. Björk’s collaborations with video directors, photographers, fashion designers, and artists will be featured, and the exhibition culminates with a newly commissioned, immersive music and film experience conceived and realized with director Andrew Thomas Huang and 3-D design leader Autodesk.

Yeah, and unfortunately Bjork and Hot Chip are on separate days. Was hoping to snag a day ticket and see them both. Ah well.

Just booked my flights and got a pass for saturday!

Going to be my first time in NY so any advice would be awesome! Im going to be there from June 1st - 8th. Doing touristy stuff throughout the week, might hit up a couple shows at night, found a great hostel for the first half of the week before the rest of my crew flies in and we go in on a hotel.

What is a MUST SEE in NYC? My Plans are to hit up the following + any recommended spots

Penn Station / Empire State / Rockefeller Center / World Trade Center / China Town / Little Poland (wootwoot!) / MoMA (bjork) / Museum of Sex / Chelsea Market / Obscura Antiques & Oddities / Theatre District / Times Square

Would like to find a couple good record shops and anything that just seems like its off the beaten path. I love consignment shops and places with oddball treasures. Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated

Unless you are a masochist, I am not sure there is any reason to go to Penn Station. I think you perhaps mean Grand Central Station.
Hunting has been part of our society since the first Europeans came over and shot buffalo and Native Americans and whatnot.

I'm not good at must see stuff since I view the city through the eyes of a local but I can list my favorite local stuff that's near each thing you're going to -

Penn Station (I agree you mean grand central station don't go to penn station it's a dump) - at grand central you're near my favorite building the Chrysler building (you can see the lobby sadly no tours and best view is probably from the Empire State Building) -- you're also near the UN which you can get a guided tour for $18

/ Empire State - see the Chrysler building! Also check out koreatown - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koreatown,_Manhattan

/ Rockefeller Center / - the Ziegfeld manhattans best old school movie theater is nearby - gigantic movie theater showing only one movie on an enormous screen with over a thousand seats

World Trade Center / - Adrienne's pizza bar has great pizza, and walking there from wtc will give you a great mini-tour of the narrow building canyons and working people of downtown/Wall Street

China Town / - eat at wo hop or hop kee and check out "Chinatown Fair Family Fun Center" to people watch local hardcore fighting game and DDR gamers it's fun

Little Poland (wootwoot!) / - I don't know if u mean greenpoint Brooklyn or the shitty EV diner. If u mean the shitty diner go to greenpoint for polish food instead (which also has all the record stores see below)

MoMA (bjork) / the exhibit has maybe the worst reviews in moma's history and will be horribly overcrowded but if it's what gets you into that otherwise great museum fine just look around at all the other stuff before and after

Museum of Sex / don't go to shake shack. It's a mile long line and it's a chain now you can eat it anywhere. I love beechers on 20th & Broadway around there really, really good food in the restaurant below (it's a cheese shop above so everything with cheese in the restaurant is great their Mac n cheese is fantastic)

Chelsea Market / old homestead is an excellent old school nyc steakhouse near there. To take a look at the worst and douchiest people of the world walk around the meat packing district, they're there anytime but especially at night. Such douche. Avoid the high line unless you love feeling overcrowded with little reward.

Obscura Antiques & Oddities / Tompkins square is still a worthwhile park to walk through even in the homogenized EV - in warm weather visiting punk kids still mope about with the new family yuppies and there's a corner still dedicated to crazy motherfuckers (the chess tables) - also the dog run is great to watch cultures and dogs clash and collide together
    .
Theatre District / Times Square - there's a revolving bar/restaurant at the top of the Marriott with very impressive views - better to get cocktail at the lounge at dusk than actually eat there

Record and consignment shops - I'd say lots of places do that better than nyc (Austin comes to mind) but a day spent looking at our indie record stores would also give you a great tour of our "North Brooklyn Hipster Explosion" so if you go to all these record shops (especially getting there by G train and walking) you'll have had a great tour of our actual neighborhoods...

Greenpoint - The thing, record grouch, captured tracks, academy records,

Williamsburg - earwax records, Rough trade,

East Williamsburg/Bushwick - Human head records, heaven street

Carroll gardens - black gold records,

    South Park slope -permanent records
