My friends and I will be making appearances at Weekend 2, which means a far better weekend for us (and possibly others attending).
I will be running my bubble machine overtime and dancing extra hard to ensure that any grass around me will die.
Is everyone forgetting that weekend 2 will have more time to plan out where they want to go since the schedule will be released more than 2 days before the actual concert for them?
Plus, if you really want to (I wont) you can look up and see who performed well and who was just a raging sack of shit so you'll know who to avoid and who to go see. Wish i had that kind of foresight two years ago when i thought that Perry Farrel would play some Jane's Addiction songs, or at least get on the stage with more than 20 minutes left in the show.
And also we wont have to deal with tools like this guy, quoting outdated pre-socratic philosophy and Kansas all fucking weekend long
im going weekend 1, but who cares... grass? is that why people think its gonna be better
spent last summer at glastonbury, had the best time ever, and was up to my arse in mud
come to think of it ive had very few dry festival experiences, and even fewer with anything resembling grass
I'll only be destroying lot 5 and the festival stage areas.
Plenty to go around.
In that same boat too. Wish they listened to us when we told them about the presales!
Well, if people want to be arrogant and pretentious about the weekend differences:: At least I could pay cash for my tickets instead of having to put them on layaway because I was too in debt buying a new Iphone, Ipad, and other yuppie bullshit. But I'll only say that if someone wants to challenge me on it. I honestly just wanted to go to Coachella with my best friend and enjoy a mini vacation.
Some of the headliners are only doing this festival or a handful over the three month period, all shows should be FRESH!
"But Mouse, you are not alone,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best laid schemes of mice and men
Go often askew,
And leaves us nothing but grief and pain,
For promised joy!"
Well, coming from someone who went to Weekend 1 this year, I think my friends and I are going to Weekend 2 next year. For one, we're fans of the heat, and it was far too cold W1. Second, we misses some solid guest appearances that wouldn't have happened were we returning for Weekend 2. W2ers get to read all about which shows were worth seeing and can plan their days out far better.
You can't predict guest appearances. Just cuz the Keys got John Fogerty W2 this year doesn't mean ___ won't get ____ W1 next year. I think there's a certain magic that goes with the first weekend.
As far as performances, well you can't always predict quality but you can usually predict setlists from Setlist.fm. That was MAJOR help in me catching particular songs I wanted to hear this year.
I think the absence of any webcast/streaming for Weekend 2 made it much more appealing for people to experiment with guest appearances.
week 2 is so much better. Ive done both and now realize 2 is better. Guest, crowd and people.
