I haven't met many board members in person before. Maybe here? Sounds like a good group going.

If we end up getting tickets, yes! We should all meet up at beer belly before. Heather is local so we stumble over to the Wiltern frequently.

Belly Up>Wiltern with no doubt. The only drawback is how out of the way it is for everyone not living in Solana Beach.
I went ahead and picked up a ticket for that Belly Up show. $24 on a Sunday to go 100 miles to see Spiritualized? Yea, I can swing that.

Don't fight it. I was doing the same and gave in, at least for the shows within driving distance. It's the right thing to do. And these are headlining gigs. The last time I saw them at the Bowl was good and all but it was too short and outdone by Nick Cave's dominant performance. And Coachella's Acoustic Mainline set suffered from this little thing called "daylight". Not only is it good to have J. Spaceman out and touring in sm-med sized venues, it's damned essential.

The Belly Up might be the more intimate venue, but nothing beats the sight and sound of the pit at the Wiltern.

it sure would be nice to meet more folks on here for sure. and at a spiritualized show none the less. if thats the case, count me in.
on another note, that is going to be quite a week for me being that i just bought Beck tickets for the SB bowl which is two days later. April/May is looking really good right now.
Yelp for Drinkey's meet-up suggestion is here

I've really been wanting to go... and walk down to venue from there is nuthin. We can line it up once we get closer to date, of course.

sweet. we're making this happen then. looks they have some decent food as well. im stoked on that. does everyone have GA/pit/upper level? i have GA.
I'm down for a Beer Belly excursion before the show. I'll be metro-ing over probably so it'd work perfectly for me. Course, all depends on when doors open and who's opening and whatnot. I want to be able to get front row on the first tier back from the pit.
Liking the new single
looks like nikki lane is opening...for a good chunk of the tour it seems

I am so beyond excited for these shows...the new album doesn't blow me away, but is such a great compliment to their back catalog.

Does anyone know if the Wiltern is still doing that VIP wristband crap? In other words, will I be stuck behind people who show up at the last minute and pay $20 or whatever to get let in first? I'm pretty sure I wanna be in the pit for this show, but every time I've been there when they've done this it filled up before I could get in.
It's typically just first-come/first-serve to get into the pit so even without that it'll be filled up before you get there unless you get there early and line up to get a wristband. it's never just totally open.
I wasn't aware of a "VIP wristband" for an extra fee. If they do that, it's not often. SOMETIMES they sell VIP tickets during the actual livenation onsale, but that's rare as well.

I know about the normal pit wristbands, I don't mind lining up early to get one, but yeah, in the past there've been venue staff walking up and down the line before shows, selling VIP wristbands that get you inside before the rest of the line. I guess I'll just line up as early as I can and hope for the best.
They do it every show, just sometimes they have people trying to sell it up and down the line. It's not VIP or anything special, just the same front pit wristband you get for waiting. If some show was the most amazing thing I'd ever waited for I'd buy it just because you are for sure getting on the rail since you go in early as well.
But I've never had a problem getting in the front section. I was all the way down around the block past the parking garage and still got in. A lot of people in line don't know what to do and just check out the venue or go to one of the other levels.
yessssssssssss. good to hear.
Bumpin this shiat. Still a meet up at Beer Belly for Wiltern show?
Also, I got a Kings game the Sunday of the Belly Up show. Will be driving down after. If anyone is at the Kings game and wants to carpool down, lemme know. I live in DT so keep that in mind.

I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
I've seen them around seven times and have never been on drugs. Always worked out well for me! Still blown away we got Electric Mainline last night. Hadn't expected that since I wasn't checking set lists. I LOVE Pure Phase!
