Fitz and the Tantrums added to the Ben Harper show and Flying Lotus added to Animal Collective
Anyone have presale passwords for BB King or Carmina Burana?
Thanks! No $1 tix for BB King available but I did get 'em for Mozart and Carmina Burana.
Jenny Lewis added to Glen Campbell
I have a question for those who have been to the furthest seats in the back (section W). How is it? Is the sound or the view so terrible that it's not worth buying? Because I'm planning to buy the cheapest tickets for the KCRW World Festival and was wondering if it's at least decent enough to enjoy the show.
FFFIIIIINNAAALLLLLYYYYYY
I have never sat there, but I have taken a walk back there to see what the view/sound was really like. The sound wasn't bad at all, in fact it fine. The view, well it felt like I wasn't even in the venue.
Hard to advise because I hate sitting far away and I never go for anything less than Terrace at Hollywood Bowl.
I hate to be the one to say it but shows at the Bowl is more about the "vibe" and the "party" than actually being able to see and hear the band.
No $1 tix for Anita Baker & Esperanza Spalding or Herbie Hancock/Santana either.
Depends on the show. I have sat back there only once, for the Star Wars show last year, and for that it was totally fine. You absolutely cannot see who's playing on the stage, but if it's something with visual on the big screen and you just want to chill with cheap tickets, it's fun. The sound is above average for being that far away.

OH MY GOD ANIMAL COLLECTIVE + FLYING LOTUS GOES ON SALE SATURDAY
i purchased section W/X tickets for the following shows this season:
ben harper with fitz and tantrums
neville brothers with trombone shorty
herbie hancock with carlos santana
bb king with tedeschi/trucks
wilco
i anticipate being able to move up to a closer section at nearly all of these
All should be good shows. I am leaning towards getting tix for that BB King show. Only seen him once a long time ago.
I am one of those who have less issues with seeing something up close at the Bowl, especially for non-lease events, but GL with it. I have the following lined up at the Bowl this season
Glen Campbell
Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Leonard Slatkin, conductor
Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, conductor
Peter Gabriel (lease event)
St Vincent| St Vincent| The Killers| QotSA| BRMC| Jack White| Shopping| Weezer| Coachella| Greta Van Fleet| A Perfect Circle| Cigarettes After Sex| Courtney Barnett| Editors| Franz Ferdinand| U2| U2| Peter Hook & The Light| GY!BE| Johnny Marr| A Place To Bury Strangers| NIN| NIN| Roger Waters| The Cure| ELO| ELO| David Byrne| David Byrne| Phoenix| Courtney Barnett
I sat pretty far back for Paul McCartney a couple of years ago. The sound was fine but the view was awful. If I could do it over again I would have forked up the extra dough to sit closer or gone to see him somewhere else.
In my opinion it wouldn't be worth it, but others would probably disagree.
I am planning on Peter Gabriel and Wilco. Should be interesting to commute back and forth to 2 shows there in less than a week.
I'm on my way, I'm making it!

I went with the $60 section. Front row of section P1.
For Wilco I'm section G2.
getting at least one neil young ticket at the box office sunday morning
I had some vouchers from buying a set of tires from my car and am now going to the following:
Ray Charles: Genius + Soul = Jazz - 7/11/12
Duke Ellington Orchestra & Kenton’s 100th - 8/8/12
Celebrating Peace: Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Cindy Blackman Santana & more - 8/29/12
I don't get out to see much jazz and I got much better than expected seats for these as they were free, I think it was K for the Ellington and Charles shows, and M for the Hancock, and they're all Phil shows so i can bring my own booze, so these should be a lot of fun.

Jesus and Mary Chain were cool, I'm glad I got to see them. Like an idiot i missed them at Coachella 07(?)
There were a lot of people in the crowd. I was unlucky and next to some tall as fuck guy taking pictures. He didn't even like the music.
It's honestly the easiest place to get into, I thought it might sell out but nope...place is huge. For 10$? way worth it. I was pretty smashmered for the whole thing. Anyone going for X next week?
um, wrong thread. You're looking for Hollywood PARK. But I was also at Jesus and Mary Chain. it was great.
