    Default The Last Shadow Puppets!

So excited for them. Loved The Age of Understatement. I'm hoping for a Localchella show.

I'd be jealous of myself if I wasn't going to see them.

I was not expecting to see them on the lineup. They are my top priority on Friday!

Never thought we'd actually see them live. Didn't think they could leave their day jobs long enough to make festivals. This is one of those only-at-Coachella (and maybe Glasto) opportunities.

Saw them open for QOTSA and Eagles of Death Metal at Club Nokia in 2010. That was one of the best concerts nights of my life.

If they bring a full string section like this (especially with Owen Pallet) - I'm not counting on it - I would faint like a little school girl.

The Poster has them on Friday, but the artists by day on the website lists them on Saturday. I sure hope the poster is correct because Saturday is gonna' have way too many conflicts for me as it is.

I've never really liked Arctic Monkeys but holy shit this album is good! This band just shot up to the top of my must-see list.

Guys, watch the performance with the strings!!!

Could that fit in a tent?

That would be amazing, but I don't know if that would fit. Maybe they'll do a Localchella show at the Ace or Orpheum with strings.

I am really excited about this set. Like someone else up there, I never thought I would see them live. Owen Pallet has suggested that it is very good, "classic status" -- I can't wait to hear new stuff.

Looove the new song and video. After watching it, I feel pretty confident they'll get placed on the mainstage, probably around 5pm (IIRC that was where the Arctics were in 2012). So excited!!

Surprised I'd never heard of these guys before, I really like the Arctic Monkeys but this somehow passed me by until recently. Nonetheless, one of my favorite discoveries from the poster so far, really looking forward to seeing them if the conflict gods will it.

The new album will be released April 1st. Glad I'll have some time with it before I see them live.

Why has the new song solidified to you that they'll be on the main stage?

I can't believe how low they are billed. I thought they'd be first name on the third line, maybe even sneaking onto the second line, but their fourth line. Versus second on their day behind Radiohead at Primavera.

I dunno if it's solidified, but I have a hunch. Previously, I thought they might be in Mojave in the evening, since they've basically been dormant since their first album and aren't that well-known. But being reminded of the grandeur of their sound, the broad appeal this could have, (and also the star power of the Arctics/James Ford), I feel main stage would be the best fit - especially as they will be releasing a new album that might have radio potential, etc.

I see them playing mojave before sunset same set as julian casablancas in 2014, I don't think they have a wide rang of appeal outside of big time Arctic Monkey/Alex Turner fans.

They strike me as outdoor, probably - possibly main - but I hope they're not in the Mojave. I want strings, and from their separate projects they have enough experience to carry a big stage.

To be fair, Europe has treated the Arctic Monkeys like royalty for many years. While they've finally blown up here, I'm not sure how many fans TLSP have made in the process.

This is the key - Going week 2 - didn't love the first album outside of Standing Next To Me, but if it's clear they've got the full orchestral Scott Walker thing going will definitely be a priority - if they're doing it with just a straight rock band line-up as they have some times, not enough of their songs are strong enough on own given the acts they'll likely be up against for me to care.
LCD Soundsystem - Sufjan Stevens - M83 - The Kills - Lord Huron - St. Germaine - Savages - Bob Moses - Mavis Staples - Haelos - Mbongwana Star

Guns 'N' Roses - Ice Cube - Courtney Barnett - Gary Clark Jr - Lush - Deerhunter - Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Rhye - Bat For Lashes - The Damned - Shamir - Ex-Hex - Alvvays - Matthew Dear - Algiers

Kamasi Washington - Rancid - Miike Snow - Death Grips - Wolf Alice - Pete Yorn - Deafheaven - Young Fathers - The Vandals - Delux - Girl Pool
