I haven't been buying many records recently because, well, I have too many to deal with currently. For my birthday, however, I finally picked up

James Brown - Live at the Apollo

And it totally slays. Worth the wait.

Went digging for dollar records in the rain over the weekend. Came out with several Charlie Byrd albums, Psychedelic Shack by the Temptations, OST to A Man and a Woman, Rapper's Delight, something Icelandic, James Brown's Reality and other odd finds.

Your record collection is nigh complete. Well done sir.

But seriously, I hope you toss it on every chance you get.

I forgot to post this, but I purchased Yamantaka // Sonic Titan - Uzu on clear and white vinyl a couple weeks ago.

To celebrate the purchase of my new, proper turntable (even though it doesn't ship for another month), I splurged on discogs. At last...
Lush - Lovelife on clear vinyl

It was listed by a seller in the US and it's unopened, so I couldn't resist. At last, I'll have it!

Apparently the gold triangle single of St. Vincent - Digital Witness is pressed on actual gold. Or not, but it's gone for $110-200 on discogs. Tempting to unload it at that price.

nice. Would like to hear Olympia whilst sipping hot coffee with the first morning sunrays coming through the upstairs windows. 1996, the good ole days when women were stylish and cute and so were the men.

Thanks! I'm super excited. It was on sale too! I saw Watt and his "San Pedro trio" open up for Fear last year. Just him, an organist and a drummer. One of the most impressive sets ever. Blew whatever the fuck is left of Fear out of the water.

Picked up Doin' The Thing - Horace Silver Quintent whilst visiting Sacramento. I'm not familiar with this one, but it's hard to go wrong with Horace Silver and Blue Mitchell.

I mentioned many pages back that I was looking for a system upgrade. For the turntable, I settled on a Denon DP300F with Ortofon 2M Red as offered by Needle Doctor. I then got a pretty decent Onkyo receiver from Craigslist. I use some nifty, old school Jensen speakers that I acquired long ago. My records have been sounding lovely - worth every penny invested.

To top it all off, I picked up a Denon cassette player from Craigslist and the sound is almost as crisp as the turntable.

One step closer to completing my Bat for Lashes collection. Grabbed Two Suns on discogs. Now I need the obscenely expensive singles (especially the ones with Beck and Toy) and the upcoming RSD release.

And someone found a cheap copy of Blonde on Blonde for me. Good day.
