Really? Looks like a shell casing stamped with his name, with a label where the bullet should reside. I really prefer the minimal green cover, but beggars can't be choosers.

Check your bank account/paypal. Supposedly after 50 days, if your orders have yet to ship, then your entitled your money back. I ordered from them recently and it took almost a month for delivery.

It's sad to think, had young Elvis been starting out these days his pop songs would probably have dubstep sections in them.

    LP:
    Krallice - Years Past Matter

    7":
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Everything with You

Gilead Media does such a great job. I'm debating buying the new Ash Borer 12" they are putting out despite never having heard them (but heard good things), solely because of the quality of Gilead's vinyl releases.

Sounds like I need to check out Erkin Koray. I'm trying to be better about buying records, but the internet kills me.

Also, what is the deal with that Luc Ferrari record? I'm reading about it and it sounds interesting but I would like to know more from someone who is knowledgeable about him and his material.

My neighbor's relative passed away and he's selling her records. He let me pick through everything and gave me a sweet deal. Took about 50 LPs, a stack of Beatles 45s, and a dresser full of 45s for 50 bucks.

    Among the load:
James Carr - "You Got My Mind Messed Up"
Several singles from The Crystals and Ronnettes
Bob Dylan - "I Want You"
Screamin' Jay Hawkins - ...What That Is!
    Love - s/t
    The Seeds - s/t
Big Mama Thornton, Lighting Hopkins, Larry Williams - Ball and Chain
Muddy Waters - After The Rain
and what I'm pretty sure is Patti Smith's entire discography.

the original presque rien is a composition constructed entirely of elements from a day long field recording ferrari did. throughout his career he continued to develop the concept and material, sometimes adding diagetic and extra-diagetic interactions. the 2lp is a compilation of the original and 3 of the follow up pieces. all of them are absolute classics in the world of electro-acoustic music and field recording.

Yeah, I'm interested in which Ronettes and Crystals singles you found.

I used to always scour the Amoeba dollar bin, and one time I found a copy of this Crystals singles collection:

It has a broken, locked groove in one song, but other than that plays perfectly. It's a treasure.

I just got done moving, and the very first day we were here this showed up:

Nick Drake - Pink Moon (180g reissue)

    It looks and sounds incredible.

I love that it has the large-scale cards to switch the image in the front window. That said, the mix is kind of blown-out for the record. I'm still happy I have it, but his best sounding record is 808s.

I still need that one and Graduation. I've heard that all of his albums on vinyl were pretty bad but I'm glad to hear that about 808s. I hope College Dropout and Last Registration get better versions someday.

I've been waiting on this one for quite some time. The Drive soundtrack/score is finally getting released in the states on vinyl (maybe just reissued, but available again). Mondo is selling it in their online store on March 22. Tyler Stout designed the front cover and is also doing the gatefold art. Randomly inserted hot pink pressings.

Graduation was barely pressed at all (something like 100?) 808s was very limited as well, but if you scour Amoeba you'll find it sooner or later. I snagged a copy for $25 and I'm so happy I've got it.

Black Sails reminds me of my teenage years, when AFI was making good music.

    Are they even around anymore?

Yeaaahhhhhh... I definitely need this. Will this be something dumb where only 100 will be available and it will go onsale at a random time and no one will get them and they will go online for 10 x the retail price? Or will this not be a problem to acquire?
