I believe it's the second MGM record. It's split between orchestral pop stuff and recordings with his new band the Candy Men. On the orchestral stuff his voice just BOOMS. It's a beautiful record, I'm gonna listen to it a ton.

So there's a new seller on discogs that has every Boredoms release I don't yet own for incredibly decent prices. That makes me nervous, as I've never seen the Rebore series for less than $20 apiece.

Is it worth the risk? It's not like eBay where they have buyer protection in place.

If it's a US seller it's worth a try. Just be aware that if you want to get your money back from Paypal, you have to file q claim less than one month after purchase. I got robbed of $60 by a British seller who had 99% positive feedback and now has 94% positive (ripped off a lot of people)

To clarify, I was giving the package that was never sent time to clear customs and didn't know PayPal gave such little time.

I sent him a message. If he responds before they sell, then I'll feel fairly comfortable trying.

Are there headphones that are more ideal for vinyl? I currently have a very inexpensive pair of Sennheisers. My current bedroom setup is also on the low end, I just purchased these last week.

Nevermind. I sent him a detailed message asking why he lists things as mint, if they're sealed, where he ships from, and a few other questions. His reply?

    Their mint.

I went a little crazy on that Hot Topic sale, and I'm pretty surprised that
Tool - Lateralus 2xLP picture disc
    Tool - Undertow 2xLP
Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction 180g
Daft Punk - Homework 2xLP French release
The Smiths - Hatful of Hollow (gatefold)
The Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust 2xLP
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom (orange clear vinyl)
    Misfits - Misfits (Collection I)
The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation 2XLP UK reissue

and some of the 180 gram 2012 reissues of Beatles albums I haven't had any luck finding a reasonably priced good condition copy of thus far.

I bought these ones as well and I don't regret it a bit - it was a fantastic deal.

Finally picked up two favorites today: The Who Sell Out and Nina Simone's Here Comes The Sun. Her version of "Ooh Child" is ace.

Oops, I didn't even finish that sentence. I was surprised that quite a few things on the sale were original pressings or the import copies. (I was skeptical enough to check the matrix numbers).

And yea, I can't wait to play Rubber Soul.

I'm trying to keep cool with all the sales going on, but in the past week I've picked up double-vinyl reissues of Primal Scream's Screamadelica; Spiritualized's Ladies and Gentlemen...; Blur's 13 and Blur; and Duran Duran's self-titled debut, which is selling for $14.99 on the Urban Outfitters website.

Screamadelica and Ladies and Gentlemen are both Plain records, which lots of people hate for sound quality. I don't have any major complaints with either one, but they could be clearer. Still awesome to have them.

Wish I'd checked around on that, though I'm not as much an audiophile as I am a fan of the music. Still, I do want it to sound good.

My copy of Loveless was released through Plain Recordings. Kevin Shields hates it, but I am also not much of an audiophile and it sounded fine to me last time I listened. To the best of my understanding, their reputation for poor sound quality comes from the fact they often master from CD rather than the original tapes. At least that is what I remember reading.

Just got back from 1-2-3-4 Go! with some good stuff:

    The Dead C - Harsh '70s Reality
    Jesu - Infinity
    Jim O'Rourke - Eureka
    Shoes - Black Vinyl Shoes
    Shoes - Pre-Tense: Demos 1978-1979
    Synthetic ID - Apertures

That's exactly the complaint with Plain. They don't work with the artists for the releases either.

And nice buys. I love that store so much.

Yeah, jesus. Is that a repress, or did you find an original? That's one of my two favorites of theirs and one I've been most trying to track down.
