So, people of the board: should I sell my copies of Russian Mind and Zones Without People to fund this box set purchase?
Betrayed in the Octagon is his best album, so I'd say yes. The KGB Nights stuff on Rifts is also really great.

I have all the original LPs and then probably have the 1/2 last LPs on various tapes... so as much as I'm tempted, I'll probably pass.

Yeah, I couldn't pass on the OPN boxset. Been wanting those first two for quite a while, Zones isn't hard to find.

Nice. Those Drastic Plastic reissues are pretty good. I have two of the Birthday Party ones and just bought the Machine Gun Etiquette one.

Btw, Bryan: you need to listen to and then purchase the new Pheromoans album. I don't know if I have made you listen to them in the past but this new record is really good and a big step forward. It's called Does This Guy Stack Up?

    http://www.pastemagazine.com/article...day-relea.html
Record Store Day is set to return with its Black Friday event, which marks the second year we can buy limited-edition records on the busiest shopping day of the year. This year, post-Thanksgiving shoppers can grab releases from Rolling Stones, My Morning Jacket, The Lumineers, Skrillex and The White Stripes.

The Rolling Stones are set to release their first EP on 7”, which will include “Bye Bye Johnny,” “Money,” “You’d Better Move On” and “Poison Ivy (version 2).” My Morning Jacket is set to release the It Makes No Difference live recording on 10”, which was recorded at the Newport Folk Festival Tribute to Levon Helm. The recording features Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes. The White Stripes are set to release three singles including “Hotel Yorba (Live at Hotel Yorba)” b/w “Rated X”, which is set to be pressed on opaque red vinyl. “Rated X” is a cover of a 1972 Loretta Lynn song. The Lumineers are releasing a 10” EP titled The Winter, which will follow up the band’s debut.

“Five years ago when Record Store Day helped, and guided, the re-launch of vinyl wehad no idea where it was going. Looking at this year’s wonderful vinyl offerings, youcan see just how far we’ve come. There are some real treasures in here,” said Michael Kurtz, co-founder and organizer of Record Store Day.

The event expects to announce more releases as the event gets closer, so keep checking back for more details. Black Friday falls on Nov. 23 of this year.

    LP:

Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats - Blood Lust

Fans of stoner metal and heavy psychedelia will be way into this record. Not Electric Wizard heavy, but really good.

The latter two showed up here today. They ran out of the OPN/RH, but it was only delayed 1 day and they got more. Also, ordered the former. Still need to order "When We Were Eating Unripe Pears" though.

Oh and I ordered direct from EM halfway through my first listen of the new Emeralds, trying to get the colored wax.

I'll be getting married next Sunday, so my fiance and I put this stand together to hold some pastries we'll be offering in addition to the cake:

I also took advantage of a sale at Insound yesterday:

    Lou Reed - Satellite of Love/Vicious 7"
    New Order - Temptation/Hurt 7"
Panda Bear - Person Pitch 2xLP
    Gold Panda - Mountain/Financial District 7"

Lastly, did anyone else order the new HTDW from Acéphale? I can't believe they've gone through four different test pressings and it still isn't right!

I'm glad they are getting it done correctly... but damn I want to hear it on vinyl already. And yeah... test pressing would be cool.
