Big Muffs are the greatest pedals of all time.

There is only one Big Muff. Trust me, I've had 5 different ones.

For the money, the V9 is the way to go. You might be able to find one at Guitar Center for $50, and that's one of the best ones out there if you're looking to have something boost it up. I've ran a V9 through my russian (the green one, tall font, same circuitry as the Civil war) and boy the fucking bass frequencies from the russian mixed in smoooooooothly with the fuzz of the V9 plus the grittier tone from the russian.

My point being, the V9 can be fucking amazing if you know how to use it and push it's boundaries. Fuck the Little Bitch Muff, and fuck the Tone Wicker. Basically, fuck anything that isn't a V1-V9.

Hello. I'm Tim. My favorite chords are Minor 9th (no 5th), Minor add9 Chord, and Dominant 9th b5 (no 3rd). I have a Fender Stratocaster and a Fender Jaguar. I like to plug my guitar into a Kaossilator that is plugged into a Kaoss Pad. My technique is called the mistaken scraggle pick.

EDIT: Oh, and my amp is a Kustom Quad 200 HD. And I have a BOSS DS-1 pedal, which I got for free with an Amazon certificate.

I'm actually missing a lot of essentials. My rig is a work in progress right now. Recently had to let go of a bunch of shit but I'm working on getting it all back.

But my two most prized possessions are my V6 and V7 Big Muff's. The V6, signed by Jack White. It's the main one he used for The White Stripes.

If you want something older, you're looking to spend $150-$200 for something incredibly bad ass.

Yeah, I love my Big Muff. I've had it for almost a decade and it's pretty much the pedal that I live off of. Between that, my Digitech Digital Delay and Total Sonic Annihilation, I can make anything sound awful and loud.

And then all of the green/black russians and civil war are the older ones?

I'll probably just get a reissue, but I just want to know my options.

solid state? i have the stage 112se, been using it since the mid 90's when i first bought it and it's still going strong.

Yeah it's a solid state. Mines the stage 185. Packs a punch for its size. I've only been using it for a couple of years, it was given to me by my uncle who's been using it since well into the 90's.

I'm trying to get more effects pedals, all I have is a Boss Digi Delay and a Boss Overdrive one.

I did have a Line 6 Duoverb amp, but it died several months ago. I'm trying to get rid of the speakers for it now.

Steinberger bass - it's headless, but with a full body
A bunch cheaper stuff (Ibanez, Gibson, acoustics)

I had a PRS in the 90s, but it never stayed in tune. Also had one of the Van Halen Ernie Balls and I really liked the low-end sound of it. A very bluesy and complete tone, but sometimes it sounded too muddy. I'd really like a Les Paul, but cannot decide which one or manage to save a the money.

My parents offered to get me a guitar for christmas this year. I was hoping to find something with an aluminum neck (I'd love a Travis Bean, but no way I'd spend that kind of money right now). Anyone have recommendations or suggestions? I'm also looking at the Thurston Moore/Lee Ranaldo custom designs that Fender put out.

i've played nearly every variant of EHX big muffs you can buy, from the latter day little big muff to a vintage $1200 violet rams heads, but the sovtek civil war muff is hands down my favorite. An absolutely pissed off paint peeler of a pedal. I should've never gotten rid of it. I would keep my eyes peeled on the second hand market for one over anything else, if you can find one for $200 or less, grab it. If you're impatient, i'd look into purchasing something from StompUnderFoot rather than EHX.

I would rather get the squire j.mascis jazzmaster for $375 than either of those. If you want an aluminum necked guitar and don't want to pay collectors prices, look into Electrical Guitar Company(about $2500 for a custom ax). I would highly suggest purchasing a travis bean now as they will only go up in value.

So I'm trying to set up a pedal board. What do you use to power the pedals - just batteries? Or do you buy one of those expensive power strip things (can't remember what they're called) that you can use to plug all the pedals in?
