Let's say they don't add anyone else. Who would you pick to do the late night set? None of the options really seem that appealing to me. I mean, I guess it could be Wolfgang with his 8-bit Medusa head, but other than that...who?
Late night set from Charles Bradley.
Fresh off his "JUICY AUSTRALIA TOUR"
Matt, I feel you're completely lost with my tone here. I was never trying to suggest any additions to the lineup, only learn about this late night format and threw out the suggestion of one of my favorite live dj's since he's already there. I think he'd be better than pretty much any possible edm add because, as I said, he's one of my favorite djs and I thought you knew that about me. This has nothing to do with me liking him more than you (?) and any defensive tone you may have felt from my end wasn't my intention.
His set is going to be so good. I also liked Frank's idea about Little Dragon playing late.
Gotcha. I did misunderstand. I thought YOU thought I wouldn't welcome an Apparat DJ set. I actually enjoy his DJ sets more than his live stuff.
EDIT* I haven't actually seen his live set before... but his latest record is with a full band, yeah?
Little dragon has been blowing up and they have the energy, but also quite a few downtempo numbers and no major light show, so as much as I would love to see them close with a lengthy set, it isn't likely.
No, I only responded to you because you seemed to dislike the idea of Apparat or SBTRKT due to already being on the lineup and not being varied enough, which I disagree with because the different styles of performances are varied enough to me. It had nothing to do with how much you liked either of them. I haven't seen his live set either, but yes it is with a live band and I think Joshua Eustis is touring with him but I could be wrong.
What do you guys think of this theory?
I think it's going to be hard to find a good spot on the hill.
There has to be something happening in order for that 5th stage to even be possible. There just isn't room for it as it is. I wouldn't be surprised if a stage winds up in the campground or parking lot.
Very interesting. I think it could certainly be possible but doubt it is. It makes sense that they would put a trial 5th stage in the campgrounds. Two experiments at once. Plus, coincides with reinstated re-entry policy.

This wouldn't be the Coachella board with an "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE."
An even super bigger giant dance tent in the old day parking lot? I'm for it!

They could fit a tent in the Day Parking lot easily. I remember walking through there last year and there was tons of extra spaces. I am also kinda bummed they increased the attendance though. Its definitely gonna be tough getting a good spot on the hill.
It's just a theory for now. It makes sense though, and know ID yuh is as trustworthy an unofficial source as you'll ever get. Basically, what he said makes sense in terms of the stages, and if they did put a stage in the campground/parking lot, it would only be logical to also sell more tickets.
Is the NW hip hop / rap stage even going to be a hit? I don't plan on spending any time there, especially if I have to walk out to the parking lot to get there. Seems like they could have just used that money to grab a big name late night act for the Bigfoot stage instead.
I would have thought so considering this years lineup is far and away better then last years IMO and last years was sold out within a week. Its strange how some festival sell though. I know some people who are waiting until right before the festival to buy tickets because they expect the price to drop to below face value like last year. That isn't worth the risk to me though.
I certainly expected that it would, but if the capacity speculation is true, one has to wonder just hw many more there are.
Doublechella stole all the would-be Squatchers!
It stole me, that's for sure. This year anyway.
