Look, there is a whole bunch of shit that has to be dealt with first. Psychic Friend has to approve which bands are on it, and she's really picky. Plus she has to shoot all the bands this year, and get them to sign waivers. So ask her about it.
hahaha, shut up

In 2011 after 5 more years have passed.
I just watched part of the first one again,to get even more psyched for the show, and since we don't have the movie lounge, may I say that I really enjoyed the part when they segued from all the scenes around the Sahara, and the dome into the campgrounds and the next day.Really captured part of the essence of the whole experience there.

I think they should put one out yearly. It would keep Coachella current, relevant, and always noteworthy. Plus, it'd be by far the best souvenir to have from the experience every year. I'd buy one, for sure. Multiply that by everyone else who'd want one at the festival, and all the people who'd buy one to check out what they missed at the festival...and that's a pretty decent number of direct sales, right from this very site. No distributor necessary.
Hell, pretty soon...almost every concert you go to is going to be recorded and have a DVD available later for sale. Coachella should be proactive and get with this trend before anyone else.
the bands, their label, their publishing, their manager all have to give permission and want a ton of money. it's a challenge.

I think yearly might be a bit much. I would eat it up, but at the same time I somehow am greatly attracted to the idea of one every six years. I think that gives enough time for the initial excitement to die down. and it'd be so interesting, in five years time, to reflect back on it all...
I think the film captured coachella perfectly. when I watch it, I feel like I am there again. and I love that feeling.
PF would bottle that feeling and sell it if she could. GV is only in it for the money.I think yearly might be a bit much. Bought the first one used a week ago on eBay for $5
Six years is a long time to wait..
Every two to three years would be better.
Plenty of footage to fill a dvd from three years..

...and all these wonderful things will add up to some powerful experience that 10 years from now you’ll say, “Wow, we LIVED!"
Austin City Limits get a DVD every year...
forget dvds...just give me SBD sets on CD from the bands
Yeah, I wonder if anyone will sell recordings of their set like Depeche Mode and the Pixies have done in the past. Doubt it.
I wish more SBD recordings of coachella existed...off the top of my head I can only think of:
RATM - 1999
Autechre - 1999
U-Ziq - 1999
Oakenfold - 2002 (I think, maybe 2001)
Pete Tong - 2002
BT - 2002
Pixies - 2004
Depeche Mode - 2006
Who needs SBD when there's BC!
