Because I still wish I could fit on the playgrounds and had a cool set of Legos. And because we've overtaken the old guy thread and I want a place to post pointless cool shit that we should be too mature to marvel over but aren't.

These used to be my favorite toys. I still have a bunch of them in a box somewhere.

God I love the shit out of Lego. Since it's not yet acceptable for adults to keep playing with it -THANKS OBAMA - I make do instead with this: http://ldd.lego.com/

    And also Minecraft.

Holy shit, I just searched not thinking I'd find the exact case I had for my He Man action figures but I found it.

This thing followed me everywhere for many years:

    5/01 - Sleater-Kinney - Palladium
    5/03 - Lightning Bolt/Liturgy - Echoplex
5/05 - Thee Oh Sees - The Smell
    5/08 - The Acid - El Rey (?)
    5/14 - Melody's Echo Chamber - Roxy (?)

I probably had thousands of dollars worth of Lego when I was a kid. I remember one day in middle school my parents had a garage sale and my mum sold all my Lego in huge garbage bags for like a buck a pop.

Also, it bothers me when people pluralize Lego by saying Legos. No offense, SoulDischarge.

If anyone ever goes to Avalon on Catalina Island, there's a miniature golf course there that has some of the most creative, fun for kids holes I've ever seen or heard of. It's still fun all these years later, too. I've played it dozens of times over the years, and it's always a blast.

we used to play there as kids 20 some odd years ago, excpet it was always overrun with leaves that clogged the holes. had many a walk back to the front to get another damn ball. they keep it clean nowadays?

it would be a round of golf then over to the little old pizza place on a side street that had a large picture of buffaloes fucking as you walked in. take the pizza to the beach and end up with sand as the main topping. god, spent almost every weekend there on our boat during the summer months when i was a kid. good times!

Besides Lego, DinoRiders were probably my favorite toys growing up:

I also remember really enjoying the artwork on each package and being amazed at how detailed they were:

There was also a short-lived cartoon series, and I still have two of them on VHS:

I was really into K*Nex as a kid. I probably made everything in this picture at some point or another. There's still random pieces littering our house.

I also did a ton of these cut and assemble books. The coolest one was a haunted house with all these secret things hidden in it.

I was a lonely, dorky child.

I barely remember Crazy Bones but I knew they were awesome, Pokemon always wins too.

Lego is probably number one though for me.

    Yeah, it's cleaner nowadays.

And hahahaha Antonio's! Yeah I remember going to the men's room when I was like 8 and seeing naked girls on the walls, and thinking it was fucking awesome. Such a tacky yet awesome place.

Hell yeah. I played with He Man action figures well until after they went completely out of style. I had Eternia and Snake Mountain but never could find Castle Grayskull

But Legos were the ultimate. My favorites were the pirate sets. I was particularly fond of this one because it was so damn big and had a ton of pieces and nine Lego people.

I was obsessed with Dino Riders while they were a thing. And speaking of short-lived kids show toys, I also had a bunch of Captain Power.

i was mad when they opened the giant waterfront location. refused to eat there for such a long time, always demanding the old location.

I've been toying with the idea of getting reacquainted with Legos as part of some home projects... Like the look of these...

OMG I loved muscle men. There were so many different ones. They would come in little plastic garbage cans as well as regular packages but they would give you a ton. Surprisingly fun to collect and play with for toys that were so small.

I also had a huge collection of these...

But they never closed the old location down, just added a second one.

K'Nex were great for building stuff you could use yourself. My brother and I used to built K'Nex swords and shields and beat the shit out of each other with them. You couldn't do that with Lego, you'd do real damage.
