This is a good thing. The world doesn't need another Under the Blacklight.

I needed a pic that illustrated how important this band is in my life and to the overall community.

Btw lol this band was packed at Coachella last time they played, funny how quickly people stopped giving a shit. Happy to say I didn't give a shit then either. Not saying anyone in particular did.

Rilo Kiley were the kind of generic Indie band that I think we can all be glad to be rid of.
Even though it really merits more of a shrug.
If she didnt look like she looked we would all be saying "Rilo Who?" anyway.

She needs to hook back up with the Watson Twins as that album is the greatest work Jenny has ever done IMO.

Im surprised it took this long after Under the Blacklight for them to break up. They mentioned in an interview around the time it came out that that record was their sort of last ditch effort to decide whether or not it was still worth playing in a band together. I thought it was a decent enough album. Execution of All Things is pretty great though, and I really enjoyed and still enjoy More Adventurous.

Under the Blacklight was a steaming pile of shite that in parts reminded me of Miami Sound Machine. I didn't mind their previous efforts and they were always solid live. I thought The Elected stuff was better than any of the things Jenny got up to solo (insert innuendo here).

I loved Rilo Kiley. This blows.

Funny enough, every time Jenny Lewis has been at Coachella (with Rilo Kiley or not) I've managed to miss her each time.

I've never even listened to an album, the songs that I've heard were so shrug-inducing. Fair or not, I've always thought of Rilo and Death Cab as being to 00s Indie as bands like Collective Soul were to 90s alternative. ie a bland, inoffensive fascimile. (And particularly enjoyed by teenagers - I was admittedly a big Collective Soul fan at 15)

The equivalent of all the indie kids one day magically deciding to start wearing flannels and those stupid belt key ring claw things. It's almost parody how much of a Head Office Issued Item it is.

Tho I cant fault DCFC as much even though Im not a fan. They were out there for years doing it when it wasnt quite a thing yet.
