get the house, spread the word, too many people show up, you can't control their actions, who are these people?, damage beyond the security deposit, ignore the owner's emails, change your cell number

This is my 7th Coachella and have watched the rental houses gradually go up in price...2012 pricing took the cake...at least for houses in Indio. One company quoted me somewhere 20-25k for a 4 day rental (I even called them to make sure it wasn't a typo) Anyway, as someone mentioned, legacy villas are close by but with the way Coachella has pretty much mastered the shuttles and parking situation I would recommend looking in Palm Desert, its not too far (maybe 20 minutes door to door) and a condo on the golf course ran 7 of us 250 for a 6 night stay. Yes, we are already booked for 2012 and be prepared to put half of your total down on the deposit.

we looked pretty late last year and were only able to find a place in Palm Springs. it ran us about 1600 for 4 nights split with about 25 people hahaha 3bd/2ba came out to about $75 a person. It worked out fine, except for the bathroom situation we had beds, couches, a kitchen, a pool, stuff within walking distance it was awesome. The only other thing that sucked was the drive back every night that was like 20-30 minutes. if we can find a similarly priced place closer I'd grab it

So YOU are why many of the owners of nice properties that I contacted refused to rent to anyone coachella weekend. I can't tell you how many responses I got this year about houses being trashed with extra occupants in the past and how much they'd 'really like to' rent to us, believe my true story that we're three married couples who have no intention of hosting a party, but just can't risk it because they've been screwed so badly in the past. So now there's less decent houses than there once was and those available are all far more expensive.

Whatever, we found a place...but even though we started the search day the dates were announced, this year was harder (and pricier) than ever.

Nope, it was a bunch of us but we left the place spotless when we left, mostly a bunch of camping outside in the sweet backyard. I'm sure we could that place again but driving all the way to Palm Springs is not fun.

If you scroll down and look at the actual rates, during coachella it's $1400/night for the main house, $2275/night for the entire estate.

We are renting a house for the first time this year. Usually my wife and I stay in our favorite motel in Palm Springs but this year we have 2 friends (1 male, 1 female, not a couple) and we decided to rent a 3 bedroom house.

Definitely not cheap... I'll let you know if it is worth it afterwards... The place looks pretty sweet...
