So I really wanna go to this, but I can only go Friday and Saturday. Is anyone else traveling through the Richmond, VA area that is going to this? If so, hit me up.

Ugh, I just noticed how incredibly convenient it would have been for Portishead to play Moogfest (their last show is 27th in Colorado, and they could have made it for Moogfest).

But i guess being exclusive to the ATP Festival halted that.

But they would have been perfect for this fest! Plus, it would have been their southern gig.

Looking for some info from people who went last year

    1) How often was a venue at capacity? How long did you have to wait?
    2) How long does it take to get through security at each venue?
    3) What about walking distance from one venue to another? are there cabs or trolleys or shuttles?
    4) Any suggestions for food?

    1. The only times I saw a venue at capacity was for Four Tet and Bonobo. Four Tet was at the Orange Peel and we got there right at/maybe a little after his starting time. Bonobo was in the tiny Moogaplex which is just a conference room in a hotel. (I had a pass so I just walked in for Bonobo, but I don't think I was getting in otherwise. Just turned around and saw something else for Four Tet; the line was pretty crazy.)
    2. Not long for the TWA/Civic Center, but the security at the Orange Peel is historically a bitch. I have never had a pleasant experience with the security there. In fact, the security as a whole last year, even at the two main venues was pretty overzealous.
    3. The furthest you will have to walk is to the Orange Peel, as most of the other venues are only a few blocks away in any given direction. Even that walk is 10-15 minutes, tops.
    4. Tupelo Honey Cafe & Over Easy for breakfast, for sure. I had a really good quail at Lexington Avenue Brewery last year, and enjoyed a really great IPA of theirs as well.

God I can't wait to be back in Asheville. Who's pumped?!

FYI: If anyone is looking for lodging, I canceled two private pods @ Sweet Pea Hostel, due to friends bailing out. It runs about $35 a night and its located in Downtown Asheville.

I would have to add Jonsi to this list.

I'm sooo pumped! Amon Tobin, are you kidding me!?!?

Wow was it? I was at Thievery. I am surprised that place filled up.

Amon Tobin is going to blow minds. I am personally beyond excited about finally seeing FlyLo too. And The Field. And M83. And..yeah. All of it.

    The correct answer is Suicide.

Seriously, anyone who skips them should have their Coachella credentials taken.

I enjoyed seeing them at Primavera, but apparently a lot of people didn't. Looks like they clash with St. Vincent, and I have to say that St. Vincent is the better live show. But on the other hand, who knows when Suicide will come around again. I see a bunch of unfortunate conflicts and overlaps.

It's still owed for who they are though. Just to see a couple of songs (at least Ghost Rider or maybe even Frankie Teardrop if your bold enough). Like Frank said, they won't be around for much longer. Alan Vega is in his 70s.

Thank you, Mr. Dylanja. I will hopefully have some time to sift through the rest and get a photo album together, so I will post a link here whenever I do if you'd like.

Great photos! Moog Fest was amazing! I had a fantastic time. Definitely going next year. Ashville was such an unexpected city. I really enjoyed my time there. When I was waiting for my plane I saw Jame Murphy just chilling waiting for his flight to La Guardia. I saw a few other performers hanging around, they looked familiar, but couldn't come up with their names.

What's the festival like? Layout, crowd, atmosphere, sound, etc. This year's lineup looked really good, and I'd consider it next year if similar quality acts are booked.
