Who knows but hopefully they plan on adding more or just giving artists longer time slots or perhaps having less overlap. I was initially pretty interested in the lineup, but the more I compare it to last year's lineup the more underwhelming it seems. I counted more bands last year that I would be excited to see than artists on this years lineup total. Asheville is drivable for me and I have some friends there, so costs are pretty minimal.

Probably going to hold out for the schedule before deciding for sure though.

What the fuck is the point of deciding whether or not you like this lineup by comparing it to what you thought of last year's lineup?

"Well, I like this lineup, but I don't like it as much as a lineup from the past that due to the restrictions of space and time I can't attend, therefore, I don't see why I should bother to like this year's lineup even though the potential for me to actually attend this year's lineup is an attainable reality."

"Even though I like a large number of the artists on this lineup, I'm upset that there aren't more artists that I may or may not care for. I'd feel better about this festival if I was more certain that I'd have to make difficult conflict decisions rather than knowing that I'll probably get to see almost all of the acts I really like."

Yeah, kind of a bummer. Gotta assume they haven't been pulling a profit though.

Either way, this should be a another good time this year.

The line up looks solid to me plus I love the town.

Just like anything, it takes the masses of sheep a while to catch on.

The first was pretty funny but this second one is overkill. I'm sure in your years of festival going you have been interested in seeing if more bands were added before buying tickets.

This is a great electronic lineup, I may be down to give this a shot if Orbital doesn't do a 930 club show.

For it's current size, yeah it's a solid lineup but of course it's not as good as last year's. But Guedita is right, you can't compare it to last year when they clearly said they're changing things up this year. I'm really interested to see how the schedule works out for this.

For me personally, traveling from Alaska for festival, the lineup has to be DAMN good to warrant that flight. This by itself doesn't, but the fact that my family lives an hour and a half away AND going to Fun Fun Fun Feat the weekend after makes it all worth that flight.

Looks like the lineup delay didn't affect ticket sales

"We're blown away! Today we sold the most tickets in Moogfest history. To those who purchased: a big THANK YOU. To those who haven't: Please, join us in Asheville! Have a great weekend and thanks again..."

I'm really interested in the mooged out band aspect of that add.

First up is hip hop icon Nas, performing with his Moog-ed out nine-piece band. Moogfest alums Tim Hecker and Daniel Lopatin (aka Oneohtrix Point Never) join us for their debut U.S. collaborative performance. New York’s Buke & Gase (formerly Buke & Gass) will bring their art-rock wild thing while representing Asheville are garage proggers Ahleuchatistas. Finally, electronic music pioneer Morton Subotnick presents “From Silver Apples to a Sky of Cloudless Sulfur,” which will include his piece "Silver Apples of the Moon," one of most influential electronic music pieces of all time. A hearty welcome to all and get ready to be blown away!

We're overwhelmed by your support of yesterday's artists additions! Here's a bonus prize: We've got a couple more to throw out there. More info to come.

What do a renowned avant-garde composer, a buzzy California alt hip-hop act and a dub techno maestro have in common? They’re joining the Moogfest lineup on Monday. Let the guessing begin!
    Harold Budd, Death Grips, annnnnd...?

    Moogfest
We're pleased to welcome our latest additions to the Moogfest lineup: the explosive, in-your-face Death Grips, wildly influential composer Harold Budd with bassist Keith Lowe and Andy Stott, a producer intent on pushing the boundaries of techno.
