Sadly, Chris Squire, co-founder and longest standing member of Yes, has passed away from leukemia at age 67.

I'm glad I got to see him perform a few times in the 80's and 90's.

More like, "Over the Edge" now, amirite?

I kid; that's too bad, dude was a ridiculous bassist.

Sucks. Great player. Can't say I loved all Yes but I listened to Fragile till it wore out my needle.

    RIP

Fuck, had no idea he was ill. One of my favorite bands from high school and college days (I'm only a few years younger than the age Chris checked out). Glad I got to see them perform a couple times the past few years; they were great (did complete albums start to finish -- like Fragile -- and played over 3 hours each time). Chris Squire was an excellent bassist and seemed awfully strong for an old guy when I last saw him in concert about a year ago, as did Yes's excellent guitarist Steve Howe, who's 68 now. Fuck.

Jenny Eliscu gave proper tribute the other night on her SiriusXM deep tracks Indie rock show Sunday night, admonishing any would-be doubters of the influence of Yes on modern Indie Rock.

She played Long Distance Runaround and I sighed.

So glad I got to see this great band at its peak with Anderson/Wakeman/Howe/White/Squire lineup.

When was this? I saw this lineup, but alas only during their second run about a decade ago. Closest I got to the classic lineup period was their first Drama show in 1980.
