this is correct.
the sound is pretty impeccable no matter where you sit. it's all a matter of preference really. the only trouble with GA is that it fills up early. lots of people save seats for friends and if you don't get there early enough you might be stuck to the side watching the show.if GA is up front I'm wondering whether I should try for another GA ticket saturday or try for a seat further back so I can take in more of the view. can anyone who has been to red rocks advise?
April 24 - Queens of the Stone Age
April 26-28 - Levitation
I'm pretty sure our plan for these shows is to get to Red Rocks early and wait in line for a few hours. This ensures a good spot. Waiting in line at Red Rocks is cool because you get to be in a beautiful area and we can just bring our own food and drinks and make a thing of it. I hope you'll join us. Or at least join us for breakfast on Saturday and/or Sunday.
wait, I thought the first few rows of RR were the reserved seats and the rest was GA. It was under that knowledge that I got two GA tix

I got a GA for each night in the end. if there is GA in the back also I may be able to decide on the fly to take in the second show from the front or the back.
then again I can still pull up seats in the middle of row 47. that seems ideal.
is this going to sell out? there are still both GA and seated tickets available.
How did this not get bumped when 3 shows at the wiltern got announced?
I'm freaking out over the possibilities. And they are starting to do that whole fan setlist curation program so it can only turn out amazingly. http://www.mymorningjacket.com/news/81682

Fuck so excited for 3 nights!
I can only make it Thursday, so I hope they save the best for last!
Let's go on a livin' spree!
Last night was awesome. My first time seeing MMJ, and as I had heard from many before, they are amazing live. They sounded flawless, played their asses off for nearly 2 and half hours, and seemed to completely enjoy every second... as did I! Also I am in love with that fucking Golden Bear! Haha. Oh my god and the Call Tyrone cover was the fucking shit!
Iron & Wine, who I bought the ticket for as much as MMJ, was charming and adorable and as always just knocked me flat with his gorgeous voice. Opening with The Trapeze Singer and just everyone being dead silent for the whole song was a religious experince. I love that he was just playing a loose acoustic set and taking requests. Although I am a bit bummed that he didnt have a full band to play some of the newer material, like what he was doing at some of his recent festival sets. But I really can't complain... he played Love Vigilantes which I have been dying to hear for forever.
What time did MMJ come on at?
Let's go on a livin' spree!
Doors 7

Cool thanks. Just found that on Wilterns FB page too. Leaving work soon...can't wait for tonight!
Let's go on a livin' spree!

Oh my god.
I knew it was going to be good based on what Cutter had said, but I wasn't expecting that. Dondante lasted nearly 20 minutes, they covered Lionel Richie's "All Night Long" (one of the quintessential songs of my childhood), and we got "Oh Sweet Nuthin'". And that's not even scratching the surface. All from the pit at the Wiltern.
Massive, massive thanks to nosurprises for the hookup. A night I won't soon forget.

My love for this band is unmeasurable at this point. From offering an amazing deal if you went to all three days, using twitter to curate song requests, deciding that there would be no repeats across the three shows, selecting support from three unique opening artists, and generally surprising me by far surpassing my huge expectations of them led to this perfect and unforgettable experience. These were real rock 'n' roll shows from a band at the top of THE game; playing every one of the 67 songs like it was their last. It was lovely spending it with old friends, new friends, and family.

I love reading these reviews. They really are on a different level right now. It's to the point where I have to separate the best shows I've ever seen into two categories. MMJ and non-MMJ. They're responsible for what are probably my top 3 shows ever.
Wait is anyone going to the Greek show?
I haven't been much more than a casual fan in the past but goddamn that show last night blew me away. This particular set list was also pretty conducive to my knowledge so that helped but wow what a show.
I wasn't lucky enough to catch the first 2 wiltern shows, but that 3rd night was one of the best shows I've seen from them in a while. I feel like the last couple shows I saw on the Circuital tour didn't really have the energy I was used to from them...too many slow jams and not enough rockers. This was waaaay better though. And hearing them cover "All Night Long" made my fucking week. Super jealous I couldn't make all 3 shows, that would have been pretty epic. So many good songs over those 3 nights. Props to cutter. I really hope they release all 3 of those as official bootlegs.
Oh, and thanks to JorgeC for hooking my friend up with a ticket! He got his MMJ cherry popped and was pretty stoked on the experience.
Let's go on a livin' spree!
