Has anyone been? What the hell is Serbia like? Portishead, Underworld, Arcade Fire and Beirut? Yes, please.

This is my dream festival. I'm going in 2012. It's at a fortress for goodness sake!
4/15: Tama Sumo @ Seattle
4/25: Rolling Coastal Blackout Fever, Sloucher @ The Crocodile
4/27-30: Stagecoach
5/16: Mount Kimbie @ Neumo's
5/25-27: Sasquatch
Portishead, Underworld, Jooris Voorn and James Zabiela? Wow. Also, the DJ stage is apparently set up so that the festival goers are IN a moat. Brilliant.

Arcade Fire, Portishead, Underworld, Grinderman, Beirut, Hadouken!, Fedde Le Grande, Tiga, James Zabiela, Joris Voorn, Gramophonedzie.
I almost went last year. My friend was living in Kosovo and we planned to do the festival but I couldn't swing spending $2k and miss 2 weeks of work (which is what you need to do to minimum)
Minimum 2 weeks? Why?

Personal opinion. If you're flying to the other side of the world it's going to take some time to get to and from. Also, jet lag can be brutal for a couple days. Once you've finally made it there, wouldn't you want to site-see a little bit? This isn't like flying across the country and back for a festival (which will still drain you). This is a really big deal and will cost a shitload of time and money. If you're not ready to commit you shouldn't half ass it.
i went 1 of the days last year and it was a party. i liked the energy of the crowd here more than at any other european festival i've been. lineup last year wasn't my favorite but since i was in serbia already, decided to give it a shot. i love serbian people, they are really friendly, i made some great friends there. life is not expensive, and the city is pretty safe. yes, exit is in a fortress which is fucking awesome. however, i'd totally recommend to visit novi sad when the festival is not around, it's a beautiful place with a lot of history. if you are bored of urban cities, go to the south. towns there are surrounded by beautiful nature. and if you don't feel like swimming in the danube, go to montenegro. their beaches are pretty. i was in the region for over a month and still felt it was too short. this festival will take 5-6 days of your time, but if you want to see a little bit of the rest of the country, 2 weeks sounds fair.
british kids are all around for this festival. camping is the easy thing, and i think there are apartments for rent close to the festival as well though i don't know how close.
I heard the party was a blast.....and Happy Belated! That picture is fantastic!
I've traveled to Europe before and have never needed more than 2 days to recuperate from jet lag. But thank you for the hopefully unintentional, somewhat condescending assumption that I am clueless about how to approach a festival that isn't located conveniently close to my own residence. If I go next year yes, ideally, I would like to take the time to travel, but I wouldn't spend the entire 2 weeks in Serbia. And having 2 expendable weeks to travel seems improbable anyhow.

no disrespect intended.
I guess that pulp rumor was not true?
i think Pulp and M.I.A. are also on the line up this year, besides all of those already confirmed
Wow sounds awesome

Anyone thinking about heading down to Serbia this summer for this? Due to the relatively weak (in my opinion) Roskilde lineup, it's looking more and more likely that I'll end up here.
I'm going to Melt!, Off, and Dimensions. If you are interested in a bit of travel maybe you could hit up Melt! (for acts like The Knife, Atoms for Peace, Soulwax, Trentemoller and loads more) then go to Off for MBV, GY!BE, Smashing Pumpkins, Deerhunter, there is just a weekend between the two. I was considering Exit, but it looks a bit weak too, but maybe I am just picky.
I'm buying my ticket tomorrow! Going with a friend from home and then spending some time in Croatia and Montenegro after. Anyone else going? And does anyone know when the full lineup is usually announced?
