I should not have bumped this. It just makes all that shite out there that much worse.

I'm a licensed attorney in California, with specialized focuses in criminal and constitutional law. I can also type 60+ words per minute and am proficient at internet, and I was a state finalist in both the California spelling bee and California ski slalom races.
I am also not going. 2001 - 2012 is a good run.
Flying from across the country makes it a bigger time commitment, more expensive and more exhausting. We have tickets for one of the Nick Cave shows and I hope any other amazing artists that are on the lineup - Blur?, the Stone Roses? - similarly play a local show.
I don't think I'm hosting a 2016 collaborative playlist.
Understandable. are you considering another fest instead John?
Some thought will be given to Governor's Ball as it is in NYC. And I will certainly consider ATP if they have another festival in the area.
Other than that such resources will most likely go towards Costa Rica for a 1-year (or so) anniversary and other non-music related trips.

The real question is, who is planning on not going anyway, but wants to wait until the lineup comes out so they can blame it on that?
Bryan, have you looked at a judicial clerkship in state trial court? I don't imagine that they would pay well at all, but spending a year doing that would probably open the door to some great opportunities along the lines you are looking for. One of the ridiculous tragedies of law school is that the people who want to do something other than biglaw a) have no entry into the market and b) probably can't pay their loans with the salaries offered even if they could get into the market.
Bryan, have you looked at applying to become a Supreme Court justice? You'd have to live in DC, and they have a bizarro dress code, and some of your coworkers would be real assholes, but it might be worthwhile til you can find something you really like.
I hate this thread.
I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
Missing out this year, zzz?
No she means that she is going and hates it that many of her friends are posting in here that they are not going.
At least that's how I read it.
Not seeing Brandon at the soundboard is going to suck. And I got to meet Courtney ever so briefly last year...never to be seen again. And John moved to NY for a lady and never came back! You all make me sad.

Kinda figured, but wanted to clarify she wasn't hating it because she was gonna be hanging out here.
I actually have a high school teacher/close personal friend who is the senior trial judge in our area. If the interviews I have forthcoming don't pan out (I'd prefer to be working the criminal sphere) I am going to contact him about that possibility. I have major fingers crossed for a job at the Habeas Corpus Resource Center, which does the state death row appeals. I'm pretty well qualified for it considering I've done a year's worth of federal death row appeals, worked an innocence project and did a moot court focused on California state appeals.
awww, i met him there during sigur ros 2006 for the epic nipples pic
and still have yet to meet the elusive courtney.
obviously i am out again this year because i can't take time off work from all the medical leave. plus the crowd has changed over the years and i think 2004-2011 (sans 2007 and most of 2008) was a good run as well.
I remember hearing my friend talk about how much the crowd had changed in 2006 and 2007 because of all the Tool and Rage fans that infested the Polo Fields. Those were apparently the golden years of Coachella.
I've been to Coachella six times and only once can I say the crowd was "bad" and that was mainly due to the clusterfuck.
