"Well, that's just like, you know... your opinion, man"
Since they've gone to a 3-day festival, Friday always seems to be my best day.
2007 was probably my favorite, but 2010 gave it a run for the money:
Flosstradamus (walking the grounds)
Tokyo Police Club
Satellite Party
Of Montreal
Silversun Pickups
Arctic Monkeys
Jesus & Mary Chain
Peeping Tom
Interpol
Sonic Youth
(Regret missing Gogol Bordello)
Here was my Friday 2010:
DJ Lance Rock
As Tall As Lions
Hockey
Ra Ra Riot
The Specials
Passion Pit
Them Crooked Vultures
Echo & The Bunnymen
LCD Soundsystem
Vampire Weekend
Public Image Ltd.
Friday of 08 for me.
Battles > Cut Copy > Aphex Twin > Pendulum > Fatboy Slim
I wish I had known Dan Deacon at the time because I definitely would have stayed for his set in the Gobi in between Battles and Cut Copy instead of wandering around. Either way, great fucking day. 08 was probably my favorite year all around.
Saturday 2008.
Actually
Kraftwerk>Portishead>Prince was kinda epic...
must say '08 was gnarly too
7/24 - Stevie Wonder @ Hollywood Bowl
8/6 - HARD - LA State Historic Park
9/3 - FYF @ LA State Historic Park
sunday 09 i think for me just in terms of the overall experience. i had been at coachella running around for two straight days by myself (with friends obviously, but if i felt like going somewhere i'd suddenly sprint off on my own) and then sunday my girlfriend and her friend came and we spent the majority of the day climbing all over the dome and sprinting back and forth to the sahara. plumps and groove armada stand out.
in terms of the best string of artists i'd say sunday 2010: miike snow > glorbital > plastikman > dancing off the polo fields to 'on melancholy hill'
best day at coachella for me was friday 2007. my first time at coachella. was just amazed and in awe of how amazing it looked and all the great music.
best day of music at coachella for me is saturday 2008. the Prince-Portishead-Kraftwerk triple bill was fucking epic!
Sat. 2008 followed by Sunday 2010.
Bird and the Bee
MGMT
Boyz Noise
Cafe Tacuba
Hot Chip
Kraftwerk
MIA (was a disaster)
Portishead
Prince
Saturday 2007 was my funnest year, hands down (since going 2006-2010).
Hot Chip > MSTRKRFT > Busy P > Justice *before they were big* > LCD Soundsystem > Tiesto.
Tiesto changed my life.
Coachella '06, '07, '08, '09, '10, '12![]()
Everyday has been awesome!
Best one ( Day 1, 1999 ) was having to lay on the wonderful grass from the mushrooms in between Art of Noise and the next stage, tripping on the music and lights of each show.

I should say Friday of '06 because seeing Daft Punk at Coachella changed my life. But this thread is about the best day overall and other than that one act, the rest of that day didn't hold a candle to some of the other days I've had at Coachella. Really, my best overall day of Coachella of all time would be a tie between Friday 2009 (highlights in bold):
Gui Boratto
Steve Aoki / wandering around when we got bored of Aoki's antics
The Hold Steady won't get a chance to see that amazing keyboardist Franz Nicolay play with them again, and he was the highlight of that band. Amazing
The Black Keys
Crystal Castles
Ghostland Observatory
Girl Talk
The Presets
The Crystal Method
Paul McCartney caught about the last 45 minutes of his set after TCM :-D
And Sunday 2007
Lupe Fiasco
Tapes N' Tapes
Grizzly Bear for about 1/2 an hour
Explosions in the Sky
Soulwax Nite Versions
CSS
Klaxons right at the front it was insannnee
Cut Chemist in the Dome
Air (only for a bit since they came on so late)
RATATAT
RATM
And I've been to 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
Great thread by the way!

Saturday of 2001 was it for me. I was really sad back then and I drove out by myself and within about two hours I knew I wouldn't ever miss a day at Coachella. Highlights were Saint Germain on the Outdoor Stage (I was in tears during their entire afternoon set it was soooo beautiful) and then the Jane's Addiction reunion later that night was stupendous.
It wasn't until the Sunday of 2002 when I spent any time at the Sahara tent because I didn't think I cared for EDM, and that was a life-changer as well - I spend most of my time at the Sahara these days.
Saturday of 2004 was pretty awesome as well - there were just way too many people crowded at the Main Stage for Radiohead and I was a mile away so I went to a tent and discovered Mindless Self Indulgence playing to almost nobody and they were AMAZING!
I guess I'm not the only one that loves the Sahara tent.
Everyday is Wonderful at Coachella! Seeing groups you've waited forever to see and discovering new groups you haven't had the opportunity to hear about!
Everyday at Coachella is Heavenly!

Octopus Project
Be Your Own Pet
Mates of State
Phoenix
Sleater-Kinney
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Madonna
The Go! Team
Scissor Sisters
So much dancing!!! I woke up in the night like 3 times throwing myself out of the tent because I had such bad leg cramps. Now I know to do some stretching throughout the day. =)

No, don't, don't cut my hair, Ned loves my hair.
That was an insane weekend too.
This question is impossible. What came first, the chicken or the egg?
05 cherry popper
I will tell you my worst day. Sunday 2009 - the only day I could make it that year.
I got a flat tire on the way to coachella, had to get it changed at the Costco a few miles away from the fields, got drunk at the red robin near by, even more drunk in the parking lot meeting up with two friends, super mega ultra combo drunk inside the venue, taking a nap in the cooled igloo room, and having my phone stolen from right in-front of me.

Honestly can't remember. What I do remember was the fact that the security, lack there of, was so relaxed about the whole thing. Felt like they were rent-a-disney-cast-members. When the sun went down every night, literally, the crazies came out. Insane! Plus it felt like a private event.
I remember the stage filling up with crowdmembers for Paper Planes and they had to get people off the stage because it was a-creaking and the speaker stacks on the sides were going to topple inwards. She really needs more gunshots and airhorns in her show though because, c'mon.
PS: I drive past the corner of Glendale Blvd and Silver Lake every day and there is STILL a faded poster for the M.I.A. show last summer on the SE traffic light pole. It mocks me to this day for buying those tickets.
