I guess I need to listen to more boring prog house yawners
As per my earlier reply, "Like I implied to Guedita, "most crucial" is not synonymous with "only". Obviously, lots of forces come together to make a good DJ set, and proper programming and a big-picture understanding is key, but good music IS the universal constant in the DJ world."
THE FIVER DOES NOT MAKE MISTAKES
There's nothing funny about flawlessness.
"If electronic music is criminalized, our government will succeed in alienating a generation of Californians and simply drive dance parties underground — a less regulated, less safe, less sane situation than we have today," Sperling said in a statement.
the lyrics to this song seem to agree with this dude
"The raves can draw tens of thousands of dancers to enjoy high-volume electronic music, flashy light shows and interactive theatrical performances. The legislation would make it a misdemeanor to hold an event on public property "at night that includes prerecorded music and lasts more than 3 1/2 hours." It would provide for a fine of $10,000 or twice the gross receipts for the event, whichever is greater."
So 'live' edm artists are in the clear?
everyone will label it ''live'' and thats how they get around it, genius.
I cant wait for the ensuing chaos.
"OMG STEVE AOKI LIVE!"
lol throw a synth up there and call it good.
2013 = Coverchella
2011 = Perfectchella
All we gotta do is vote against this as it is.
so what about NOS, not publicly owned right? And they would already have the license the article talked about needed to throw an event?
Hmmm...
http://info.sen.ca.gov/pub/11-12/bil...ntroduced.html
"(b) Subdivision (a) shall not apply to a public event on private property if the entity that conducts the public event has a business license to operate a bar, club, theater, entertainment venue, or other similar business, or to conduct sporting events, and conducting the public event is consistent with the business license."

I'll be there if I have the same access as I did this year.
Where's Underworld and Mew? Make it happen GV.
I don't anybody has anything to worry about regarding that bill. Its empty posturing http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...UFRV.DTL&tsp=1
you guys just couldn't contain the horrendous suck within your festival and it's spilling out all over the rest of the state.
candy ravers.
You mean contain people overdosing? That totally the festivals fault for just putting on an event. If you were the head of insomniac, nobody would get hurt, arrested, OD or even die at your events, right?
I wouldn't throw an EDC. It's a shameful display. It's just a big fucking rave cage. Most people who can handle their shit probably wouldn't go to that nonsense. And so yes, the proportion of candy ravers and bubble gummers is fucking high.
And that becomes the face of the CA dance community.
Here's a little not-so-secret about these kind of shows. It's always the promoters fault. It doesn't matter if it isn't. It always is.
