I'm going through a queue right now and stumbled upon We Made God's It's Getting Colder and it's fantastic! I guess it would be defined as a post metal record. It has a lot of post rock influences, but leans mostly to the heavier side. it has vocals as well, though they are used pretty sparingly. Really good stuff.

If you love John Maus, check out Molly Nilsson's History. It is sublime!

Drinkey, you had recommended Barn Owl's Lost in the Glare to me a while ago and I finally got around to it and it's wonderful.

Yeah, it's terrific! I keep going back to it. Big thanks to Jared for bringing them and a slew of other drone stuff to my attention last year.

Totally missed the C Spencer Yeh album 1975. That first track is one of the most disorienting things I've listened to in headphones.

Mirel Wagner's s/t from last year was completely overlooked and it is beautiful. Sad folk.

Curious as to what 2011 releases are still making it into yalls rotation?
Or anything that you loved in 2011 that might not have held up a year (or so) later?

The Weeknd's trilogy is the first thing that comes to mind because I listened to it today.

Hurry Up, We're Dreaming hasn't lost any steam IMO. I just listened to it today on the way to work.

Austra's Feel it Break is the one that's gotten the most rotation for me. Nothing terrifically earth shattering, but really well crafted.

    Yep.

Danny Brown's XXX and Kendrick's Section 80. Ty Segall's Goodbye Bread. Peaking Lights' 936. James Blake's LP.

Bon Iver, M83, Wilco, St Vincent have all kind of diminished a bit in my eyes, but they're all still great albums. I probably just overplayed them to begin with, so they'll come back around.

I've been listening to a ton of the Kurt Vile and War on Drugs albums still. They held the fuck up for me. The Terminal Symphony still rocks.

Hiss Golden Messenger - Poor Moon

This is a country/folk band out of Durham, North Carolina. Vocals remind me of Tallest Man on Earth, and the instrumentation is just so rich. I am so deeply in love with this record and I hope these guys get big, they sure deserve it.

Also the mix/mastering is excellent. Lots of space and very clean.
