I think we can still spend Sunday morning somewhere like that.

Fuck, man. I wanted to see Brodinksi but that's completely unlikely since he is closing out the Electric Forest stage one night. Please do join SoulDischarge and me for our JPHLIP Booty Bass Shake Down Competition. It's going to get nasty.

Im looking at places to drink and Wow what a tease it is to be thirty minutes away from Jolly pumpkin which is one of the biggest barrel aging breweries in the world let alone a brewery that specializes in only sour beers. Im going keep on researching good places to get a beer along with my music research.

Which brewery is this?
Zack, last year they added a biergarten to the festival (in addition to the normal stands where you can buy crap beer). They had a few Michigan breweries there, Great Lakes (from Cleveland), I think other than that it was just standard imports. I forgot to go in... my brother and I will definitely be hitting that up this year.
And yea, what Patrick said, you don't have time to go to breweries. And you will probably want to do a beer run on the way from the airport (or at least, outside of the immediate area of your hotel), as you are not going to find anything you want to drink nearby. My red bull - 4loko - rum cocktail was born of necessity. The only place near the corktown is a liquor store that was sold out of juice mixers that day...![]()
I totally agree. So if I can Ill try to make out to Merchants fine Wine(16 minute drive) to get some brews which is suppose to be the best in the area for a beer store or just buy whatever is good and local brews I can get as I did at ATP.I totally understand this is suppose to be more of an event to just have fun with our friends and enjoy the music.I just want to try local brews and if there is the typical what I think will be founders and bells Ill be ecstatic about that in general as well for great lakes.

is the brewery I was talking about.

Merchant's in Grosse Pointe Woods really isn't too far, but they're going to be closed by the time you guys get in on Friday, aren't they? Seems like a lot of effort for Saturday morning before the fest.
Keep in mind the grocery stores can sell beer/liquor there, they just won't have as much selection as a specialty store. I was able to find my Woodchuck in most of the grocery stores at least![]()
Bells alone will make me very happy .They make great beer and I mean this from a national level.Yeah, Merchants will be close I shouldn't do any research as far as beer I could go out of my way for.I am just excited to have fun with everyone.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the biergarten. I don't even remember if I went in. Tall cans of bud light lime all day.

Wish I could go to this just for the Echospace afterparty. Silent World is one of the best pieces of music I've heard in recent years.

Hey guys for good beers go to Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe in the midtown area. It's an upscale grocer right on Woodward about 1 mile from the fest grounds. http://www.yeoldebutchershoppedetroit.com/
I'll reply back with a bar list near the fest when I get home tonight.
^^^^Excellent, I know where I'm stopping for weekend supplies now.

OK by far the best place to get great beers is Foran's Grand Trunk. Here is their Jolly Pumpkin menu: http://www.grandtrunkpub.com/beer-me...el-aged-beers/
Check out their other beer menus here: http://www.grandtrunkpub.com/beer-menu/
They are about 2 blocks from the fest right up woodward and usually have DJ's throughout the weekend. HIGHLY recommended for any beer fan. PLUS you can buy beer to go!
I was going to put a list together but most bars have a decent enough beer selection nowadays anyways. It's become the cool thing to have micro brews, especially Michigan Microbrews, available at most bars.
Cara, I think the mexican stuff was from Honey Bee.
adamjab -- awesome! Thanks! I think most of us will be looking for someplace convenient to buy beer to take back to our rooms rather than hitting up bars though. (Just guessing based on the hours of day that are unused after considering the festival and after parties.)
Mexican stuff was indeed from Honey Bee which isn't too far from Corktown Inn (2-3 minute drive). In 2011 I went Sunday and Monday before I went into the festival and that was my meal for the day.
