Yessss. She is seriously talented at throwing it down. Always love a J. Phlip set.

It made me sad to think of how awesome it'd have been at a gay bar. Instead every gay bar in the world plays Lady Gaga and Black Eye Peas. Because "I Gotta Feeling" really is more primal and dirty and worthy of some nasty low down grinding than booty bass.

I feel pretty prepared for DEMF actually. You guys can run and eat well. I'm just going to pull all nighters for the next 2 months for 'practice.'

I'm not prepared AT ALL. I need to start screening children's movies so I know which one will be the best to watch when I inevitably duck out of the festival.

More than likely I will be having to sell my VIP ticket to DEMF. I will know for certain after Coachella. If you are interested in it message me and if I decide to sell it it will be yours for face value which was I think $150 bucks.

Anyhow, Bok Bok is insane, listening to his FACT mix. How do you even classify this type of music, similar to sbtrkt dj sets?

UK Bass, I thought. I've liked his production, haven't listened to any DJ sets though.

I enjoy uk bass music. What family of edm is this? Seems slightly faster than house but slower than techno. Or is it break beat and i cant even tell? Part of why i like this style is because it confuses me.

Bok Bok constantly gets lumped under dubstep, but I think UK Bass is more appropriate and wouldn't even be able to categorize it further than that. In fact he has said he couldn't either.

That's a great point. New Label, old stomping grounds, one of the electronic world's big weekends: The slipper fits, doesn't it?

Confirmed. Items & Things is throwing a Down & Out party on May 25th or 26th. http://www.iheartitems.com/

    Via RA:
From the first days of their careers, Items & Things label owners Magda, Troy Pierce & Marc Houle have always had a deep love & appreciation for the intimate. The dark & dirty. The underground.

As a means to showcase talent on the Items & Things label, they have put together their own version of a special night – Down & Out. Bringing their heaviest artillery in tracks, a stash of smaller-room sounds, and a vibe that feels more ‘family’ then club-land…sometimes even inviting friends to play D&O with them (past guests have included Chloe, Jimmy Edgar).

The concept visually – is to enter a space that feels new. Maybe you’ve been to the location 20 times, but the night you walk in the door for D&O it makes you feel like you’re discovering it for the first time. Fans should expect detail in decoration, excellent visual graphics & lighting effects, and more surprises!

Down & Out nights are about music you can reach out & touch.

    Big music for sweatier spaces.

Besides the special decoration and production, the line-up of a Down & Out event will always feature all three Items & Things founders Magda, Marc Houle and Troy Pierce, plus their guests.
**Man I hope this is on the 25th.
