Somebody give me some new music that doesn't fucking suck, please.

Also, anybody else loving the new Brody Dalle album? Shit is awesome.

I like War of the Superbikes the best. It's not punk rock in the way you'd figure from the band (Lyle Preslar and Brian Baker from Minor Threat are both there) but it's a damn fun record.

Lungfish is a band that really played up consistency and a constant focus on developing one style. So pretty much any of their albums is equally good as a way to enter their catalog. I quite like Feral Hymns.

Four Great Points. I was so so on their second and fourth albums, and the debut is great but less well-developed.

With Caribou, it depends on whether you're looking to get familiar with what he/they will be playing live this tour or whether you're interested in his catalog as a whole. It looks like (unsurprisingly, given his jump in popularity) setlists will be very Swim and Our Love heavy. But he's got a wonderful discography, everything is very worth checking out. bmack recommended The Milk of Human Kindness to me a few years ago and I really love that one. Until recently Andorra was probably his best-known and most-praised work. I'm with Gribbz in that my personal favorite is Swim.
    5/15 - Muse - Mayan
    5/23 - Ceremony - Echoplex (?)
    5/26 - Refused - Roxy
    5/27 - Neutral Milk Hotel - Warner Grand (?)
    5/30 - Spoon - Wiltern (?)

Wow, we're going to recommend half the catalog.

For Caribou, I think The Milk of Human Kindness is the best entry. It has some of his earlier electronic work, mixed with the psych sounds that he explored from Up in Flames to Andorra, and it's all just a little bit weird and wooly. Still my favorite of his albums.
